Job Description

Position Title: Account Executive

Reports To: Vice President of Sales

Department: Sales - 060000

Shift: Varies

Role: The Account Executive is responsible for generating and growing revenue by proactively soliciting, securing, and managing group business opportunities. This role develops and maintains strong client relationships, identifies new sales opportunities, negotiates contracts, and manages assigned accounts to achieve individual and team revenue goals. The Account Executive partners with internal teams to ensure exceptional client service and successful event execution while driving business growth through strategic prospecting, networking, and account development. Adheres to all Company, Safety and Department policies and procedures. Fosters teamwork and provides excellent guest service, anticipates guest needs to exceed guest expectations. Builds brand loyalty by living the JW Marriott Core Values.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of sales experience in hospitality, hotel sales, catering sales, event sales, business development, or a related field required.
  • Skills:
    • Demonstrates exceptional telephone and consultative selling skills with a deep understanding of complex sales processes and strategies.
    • Strong knowledge of hotel operations and Marriott Lodging products, cultures, and brand strategies, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
    • Proven experience collaborating with professional associations, trade groups, and industry councils to build networks, drive business development, and represent the brand at conferences and events.
    • Comprehensive understanding of food trends, menu planning, and F&B operations to support client needs and enhance revenue opportunities.
    • Skilled in negotiating and managing contractual agreements with awareness of legal implications and compliance standards.
    • Exceptional ability to cultivate long-term client relationships, influence decision-makers, and leverage association partnerships for growth.
    • Effective in making strategic decisions under pressure and resolving complex challenges with innovative solutions.
    • Advanced negotiation capabilities to secure high-value deals and partnerships.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, adept at delivering impactful presentations to executives and association boards.
    • Expertise in CRM tools and hotel systems, including SFA and CI/TY, with proficiency in standard software applications for data-driven sales management.

Required Work Cards needed:

  • Valid Nevada Driver’s License

Key Responsibilities: Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:

  • Proactively identify, solicit, and secure new business opportunities to achieve revenue and sales goals.
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of assigned accounts through relationship building and strategic account planning.
  • Conduct sales calls, site tours, networking events, and client meetings to generate new and repeat business.
  • Respond to inquiries, leads, and RFPs in a timely and professional manner.
  • Prepare and present proposals, contracts, and presentations tailored to client needs.
  • Negotiate pricing, contract terms, and service agreements while maximizing revenue opportunities.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to understand business needs and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with operations, catering, event management, and other departments to ensure seamless execution of contracted business.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to identify growth opportunities.
  • Accurately maintain client records, account activities, and sales forecasts within CRM and sales management systems.
  • Participate in industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to promote the property and develop business relationships.
  • Achieve or exceed individual and team sales goals, revenue targets, and performance metrics.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to increase market share and drive business growth.
  • Provide exceptional customer service throughout the sales cycle, from prospecting through post-event follow-up.
  • Prepare reports and maintain accurate documentation related to sales activities, contracts, and account performance.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination and air quality. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases too loud. Additionally, smoking is permitted in casino areas consistent with Nevada state regulations, which are followed by the employer.

  • Interacts with management, applicants, fellow Associates and/or guests.
  • Ability to speak, read, write and understand English.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents. Ability to write reports, customer correspondence and notices to departments. Ability to effectively handle meetings, communicate one on one to staff and present to large groups.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and give direction in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with and resolve problems involving multiple variables.
  • Requires prolonged standing, mobility, bending, reaching and lifting up to up 25 pounds
  • Requires eye/hand coordination and the ability to use standard office equipment
  • Requires the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.
  • Ability to and comply with Policies and Procedures, Job Description, daily memorandums, chemical labels (MSDS) and other instructions.
