Senior Software Developer, AI Agents in India at Jobgether

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Developer, AI Agents based in Canada.

This is a fully remote opportunity to build and scale the AI agent infrastructure powering an enterprise SaaS platform. You’ll work hands-on with agent orchestration, tool calling, context management, evaluations, and safety guardrails. Your work will directly influence the reliability, quality, and usefulness of AI-powered marketing experiences. You’ll also design evaluation systems that measure agent performance and catch regressions before they reach customers. The role combines deep backend engineering with AI development, cloud infrastructure, and platform integration. You’ll collaborate closely with product, design, QA, DevOps, and engineering teams while mentoring other developers. This is an opportunity to help shape the technical direction of a rapidly evolving AI product.

• Design and implement the core AI agent runtime in Python, including orchestration loops, tool definitions and execution, memory and context management, structured outputs, and failure handling.

• Build and maintain evaluation datasets, automated evaluators, LLM-as-judge pipelines, and regression tracking to systematically measure agent quality.

• Analyze agent traces and failures, refine prompts and tool designs, and run model comparisons and benchmarks to deliver measurable improvements.

• Develop Python and Node.js microservices for agent hosting and large language model interactions.

• Build and maintain reliable Laravel/PHP APIs that integrate AI agents into the broader SaaS platform, with a focus on testability, observability, and performance.

• Design and operate secure, scalable AWS infrastructure using services such as Lambda, Bedrock, and CDN delivery.

• Optimize MySQL queries, indexing, and database performance to reduce latency and improve application responsiveness.

• Lead and participate in code reviews while maintaining strong engineering, testing, and development standards.

• Partner with product, design, QA, and DevOps teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

• Mentor engineers and share best practices around AI agent development, evaluation, software architecture, and technical quality.

• 6+ years of professional backend software development experience, with strong hands-on experience building production-grade software systems.

• Demonstrated experience developing LLM-powered AI agents, including tool calling, orchestration, context management, and prompt engineering.

• Proven ability to design and operate evaluation systems for LLM applications, including dataset curation, automated evaluation, LLM-as-judge approaches, and regression monitoring.

• Strong proficiency in Python, Node.js, and MySQL, with experience developing scalable and maintainable backend services.

• Solid expertise in RESTful APIs, test-driven development, and CI/CD practices, including GitHub Actions.

• Experience with SaaS architecture, microservices, AWS, observability, performance optimization, and scalability.

• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes, along with modern cloud-native development practices.

• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills, with the ability to work effectively on complex and evolving AI challenges.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineering, product, design, QA, and DevOps teams.

• Experience with frontend technologies such as Vue, backend frameworks such as PHP/Laravel, or a willingness to work across the full technology stack is an advantage.

• Experience in AI-powered product development, LLM frameworks such as LangGraph, or prior work in a fast-growing SaaS environment is considered an asset.
