Position: Transportation Driver

Reports to: Lead Concierge

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Summary:

We are seeking a reliable, professional, and service-oriented Transportation Driver who takes pride in providing a chauffeur-level experience for our residents.

The ideal candidate is more than a driver. They are polished, attentive professional who understand the importance of hospitality, discretion, punctuality, safety, and personalized service. This individual will provide safe, comfortable, and reliable transportation while ensuring each resident and guest feel valued and well cared for throughout their experience.

The successful candidate will be attentive to residents' needs, assist with entering and exiting the vehicle and handling personal belongings when appropriate, and always maintain a professional presence.

This is a part-time position requiring availability on weekdays, weekday evenings, and weekends. Flexibility in scheduling is essential.

Essential Job Functions:

Transportation Services:

  • Safely transport residents to and from various destinations, including but not limited to airports, appointments, shopping centers, restaurants, events, and community activities.
  • Provide a chauffeur-level transportation experience consistent with the high standards of Symphony Park.
  • Follow all traffic laws and maintain a safe driving record.
  • Assist passengers with entering and exiting the vehicle, including mobility devices, luggage, groceries, and other personal belongings as appropriate.
  • Greet and interact with residents and their guests in a warm, respectful, and professional manner.
  • Be punctual and reliable with all pick-up and drop-off schedules.
  • Anticipate and respond appropriately to residents' needs whenever possible.
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion regarding residents, guests, and their personal information.
  • Address passenger concerns or needs promptly and professionally.
  • Represent Symphony Park in a manner consistent with a five-star hospitality environment.
  • Be prepared for emergency situations and follow established emergency procedures, including those involving passenger health incidents, vehicle accidents, or inclement weather.

Vehicle Maintenance and Care:

  • Conduct regular maintenance checks on the vehicle.
  • Keep vehicles clean, polished, organized, and presentable at all times, both inside and out.
  • Ensure the vehicle is properly prepared prior to transporting residents.
  • Report vehicle issues, damage, or maintenance needs promptly.

Route Planning & Navigation:

  • Efficiently plan routes to ensure timely arrival at destinations.
  • Utilize GPS and other navigation tools effectively.
  • Monitor traffic conditions and adjust routes as necessary.
  • Develop familiarity with local roads, destinations, and traffic patterns.

Record Keeping:

  • Accurately log travel details, including mileage etc.
  • Maintain records of vehicle maintenance and repairs.
  • Document incidents and complaints accurately and promptly.
  • Adhere to all applicable DOT transportation laws, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Attend required training and maintain current monthly, quarterly, and annual training.
  • Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned that contribute to the success of the community and the care, comfort, and happiness of our residents.

Experience Qualifications & Skills:

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Previous professional driving or chauffeur experience preferred.
  • Experience in hospitality, hotel, concierge services, senior living, luxury transportation, or another high-touch customer service environment preferred.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a service-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.
  • Reliable, punctual, patient, and professional.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in a variety of situations.
  • Knowledge of local routes and traffic patterns is preferred.
  • Availability to work weekdays, weekday evenings, and weekends is required.
  • Comfortable operating both a SUV, a 12-seat transit van and a 14-seat passenger bus.

Physical Demands:

The position requires an ability to safely operate vehicles including an SUV and a 14-passenger bus.

  • Walk/Stand – must be able to continuously walk and stand.
  • Environment Condition – must be able to perform work both inside and outside.
  • Sit – sit infrequently.
  • Lift - constantly 0-10 pounds, frequently 11 – 50 pounds
  • Carry - constantly 0-10 pounds, frequently 11 – 50 pounds.
  • Push - constantly 0-10 pounds, frequently 11 – 50 pounds.
  • Climb – must be able to climb stairs on a frequent basis, with the opportunity to utilize the elevator as an alternate resource if available.
  • Bend – must be able to bend at the waist, knees, hips, and spine on a frequent basis, may require frequently manipulating weights of 25 pounds or more.
  • Squat – must be able to squat on a frequent basis to reach below the knee, may require lifting of 50 pounds or less.
  • Twist or rotate – must be able to twist or rotate occasionally at the trunk, hips, knees, and neck while, manipulating weights of 25 pounds or more.
  • Reach– must be able to reach on a frequent basis. May occasionally reach overhead, requiring manipulation of weight of 10 pounds or less, and below waist manipulating weight of 25 pounds or more.
  • Sensory Vision – must be able to read clearly with or without corrective lenses.
  • Hear - Must be able to hear telephone, audible alarms, bells, and signals related to resident safety with or without hearing devices.
  • Speech/Language – must have strong command of English sufficient to read and write and interpret administration information.
