Job Description
Join a team that truly values you — where great work starts with a great workplace. We offer exceptional benefits, flexible schedules that fit your life, and genuine support for your personal and professional growth. Schedule an interview to see why our team loves where they work
SPGCT is seeking an exceptional, highly experienced Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our pediatric team.
We are looking for an SLPA who is more than just a therapist—we are seeking a clinician who is confident, creative, efficient, and passionate about helping children achieve meaningful communication outcomes.
If you thrive in a fast-paced pediatric setting, enjoy problem-solving, and love finding creative ways to help children communicate, we'd love to meet you.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to:
Efficiently collect accurate therapy data while maintaining engagement and therapeutic momentum.
Seamlessly transition between structured, therapist-directed activities and child-led, play-based intervention based on each child's needs.
Successfully engage minimally verbal and nonverbal children, including those with limited attention, by quickly identifying motivating activities and adapting therapy in real time.
Creatively utilize a wide variety of therapy materials and activities across multiple ages, diagnoses, and treatment objectives rather than relying on a single approach.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of typical child communication development and recognize that communication skills develop in a sequential hierarchy, with each skill building upon foundational prerequisite abilities.
Adapt intervention strategies based on each child's learning style, sensory profile, motivation, and communication level.
Work collaboratively with supervising SLPs, families, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure high-quality, individualized care.
Maintain excellent organization, professionalism, and clinical documentation while delivering engaging, evidence-based therapy.
Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program.
Active Speech-Language Pathology Assistant license (or eligibility for licensure) in the state of Connecticut.
Pediatric experience strongly preferred, particularly working with children with autism spectrum disorder, developmental delays, language disorders, speech sound disorders, and AAC users.
Strong clinical judgment, problem-solving skills, and ability to adapt therapy in real time.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively under the supervision of a licensed SLP.
CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
Reliable transportation.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Benefits:
401(k)
Continuing education credits
Dental insurance
Disability insurance
Health insurance
Opportunities for advancement
