JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION: STEWARD

JOB LEVEL: Entry Level

EXEMPTION STATUS: Non-Exempt

PURPOSE OF POSITION: To ensure all china, glassware, utensils, pots and pans and any other items used for food and beverage remain well cleaned and sanitized for human use. In addition, position greatly supports the overall cleanliness, sanitation and organization of the kitchen and back of house operations.

REPORTS TO: Executive Chef and Sous Chef

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Minimum education is a High School Diploma or GED. Experience preferred, but not necessary. Company will train the right person.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrates an outgoing, friendly personality

Demonstrates the ability to be well organized

Able to stand for long periods of time

Able to lift up to 60 lbs

Able to take direction

Demonstrates taking initiative to start on projects

Prior problem resolving experience and acting pro-active

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

1. Responsible to maintain a responsive, helpful, outgoing personality

2. Responsible to properly maintain and operate dishwashing equipment

3. Responsible to dispose of all food, trash and drink from used dishware and pre-treat/pre-rinse before loading dishwasher

4. Ensure dishwasher performs at proper speeds, heat and pressure communicating issues that may need to be addressed

5. Ensures dishwasher filters and drain areas have been properly cleaned after each shift

6. Ensures dishwasher has proper water levels when washing

7. Ensures all washed and dried items are put away in their proper places

8. Assists kitchen team with unloading and stocking cases of food items

9. Ensures the floors of all walk in coolers and freezers have been swept, mopped and sanitized

10. Assists kitchen team with keeping pass-bar and other common shelves/surfaces used for prep work free from debris, clean and sanitized

11. Responsible to maintain knowledge of all emergency procedures to include, but not limited to grease fires, hood issues, equipment failure, chemical issues, burns, skin cuts, etc.

12. Responsible to report all needed repairs to supervisor and maintenance department

13. Empties all trash as needed

14. Perform all hotel, company and brand duties as trained

15. As a team member, assist other team members and departments as available, as trained and as best as possible
