Director, Deal Strategy and Pricing
The Director, Deal Strategy & Pricing owns enterprise-wide pricing strategy and margin governance across UDT's RFP and complex-deal portfolio. This role replaces a legacy, single-account pricing model with a centralized function responsible for strategic pricing on RFPs and large opportunities, consistency across OEM, bundle, and contract pricing, and serving as the escalation point for high-impact pricing decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Own strategic pricing for RFPs and complex, high-value deals across the portfolio
- Establish and maintain standardized pricing frameworks across OEMs, bundles, and contract vehicles
- Serve as the central escalation point for high-impact or exception pricing decisions
- Monitor vendor cost changes flagged through Bundle Manager and ensured customer store site pricing is kept current
- Partner with Account Support Representatives and Territory Managers to maintain margin discipline on active deals
- Track and report on pricing governance outcomes, including margin trends and storesite pricing accuracy
- Storesite Pricing Currency % of customer storesites reflecting current vendor cost within 2 business days of a Bundle Manager vendor-price flag. Target: ≥95% of flagged changes reflected within window.
- Margin Improvement quarter-over-quarter average won-deal margin % across the identified customer set. Target: +25–50 bps per quarter.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in pricing strategy, deal desk, or sales operations, ideally within IT solutions, VAR, or public sector/education technology environments
- Demonstrated experience managing complex RFP or contract pricing (E-Rate, cooperative contracts, or similar preferred)
- Strong proficiency with CRM/ERP and quoting systems (Dynamics, ConnectWise, or comparable)
- Ability to work cross-functionally with sales, account support, and vendor/OEM partners
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate margin and pricing data into actionable guidance
