TITLE CNC Operator

Yamaha Guitar Group, home to iconic brands like Line 6, Ampeg, Córdoba, and Guild, is at the forefront of innovation and creativity in designing and building equipment for guitarists. We are looking for a motivated and highly technical CNC Operator to join the team!

This is based from our Oxnard, CA office and the applicant must be able to commute on a daily basis.

The CNC Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating CNC machinery used in the production of high-quality guitar components. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, consistency, and craftsmanship, as CNC-machined components play a critical role in the fit, finish, playability, and overall quality of the finished instrument. Overal, resposibilities include operating and monitoring multiple CNC machines simultaneously, managing production priorities, maintaining strict quality standards, troubleshooting basic machine and production issues, and consistently achieving daily production targets.

Essential Functions:

  • Operate and monitor multiple CNC machines simultaneously in a guitar manufacturing environment
  • Set up and operate CNC equipment according to production requirements and established procedures
  • Produce guitar components accurately and consistently to required specifications
  • Read and interpret shop drawings, work orders, CNC programs, measurements, and production specifications
  • Verify materials, dimensions, tooling, and machine settings before and during production
  • Maintain exceptional attention to detail to ensure components meet exact specifications and quality standards
  • Inspect completed parts for accuracy, dimensions, finish, and overall quality
  • Consistently achieve or exceed established daily production targets
  • Monitor machine performance and identify potential issues before they affect quality or production
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and make appropriate machine adjustments when necessary
  • Change tooling and make routine machine adjustments as required
  • Minimize material waste, machine downtime, defects, and rework
  • Communicate production, quality, material, and equipment issues promptly to the appropriate supervisor
  • Work closely with other manufacturing departments to ensure production schedules and quality requirements are met
  • Take ownership of the quality and accuracy of every component produced
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Follow all company safety procedures and manufacturing standards

What You Bring To The Table:

  • Ability to operate and monitor multiple CNC machines simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing highly accurate, quality components
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently meet daily production targets and deadlines
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings, measurements, and production specifications
  • Strong understanding of CNC machine operation, tooling, and basic troubleshooting
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and productivity

Education and Experience:

  • 3-5 years of CNC operating experience.
  • Previous experience in guitar, musical instruments, woodworking, cabinet, furniture, or other precision manufacturing
  • Experience operating CNC machinery in a manufacturing environment
  • CNC routers or machining centers
  • CNC programming or making basic program adjustments
  • CAD/CAM software
  • Tooling selection and optimization

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience machining guitar bodies, necks, fretboards, bridges, or other instrument components
  • Experience in high-volume or high-precision manufacturing.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods walk between departments
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Comfortable using PPE such as safety glasses, earplugs, and respirators
  • Exposure to machine noise, wood dust

The posted pay range values provide the candidate with guidance on base compensation for the position, exclusive of overtime, and benefits-related compensation, over a range of qualifications that may fit hiring objectives. Yamaha Guitar Group will consider the individual candidate's education, work experience, applicable knowledge, skills and training, among other factors, when preparing an offer of employment.
