Job Description
Chief Legal Officer
The Chief Legal Officer leads legal affairs for National Flood Pros LLC and its affiliated entities nationwide. The CLO advises the CEO and executive team on legal risk and oversees contracts, litigation, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance for the reconstruction, restoration, packout, and abatement service lines.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Serve as chief legal advisor to the CEO, executive team, and Board.
• Draft, negotiate, and approve customer, insurer/TPA, vendor, subcontractor, and lease agreements.
• Direct construction and restoration legal matters, including contractor licensing, mechanics' liens, payment disputes, and warranty claims.
• Manage litigation, claims, and outside counsel.
• Oversee corporate governance, entity management, and multi-state foreign qualifications.
• Provide legal oversight of OSHA, EPA, abatement, and state licensing compliance.
• Lead legal work on acquisitions, financings, and other transactions.
• Advise Human Resources on employment law matters and agency charges.
• Manage the Legal department budget and staff.
• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active law license in good standing in at least one U.S. state; licensed in Texas or Arizona eligible for in-house counsel registration.
• 10+ years of legal experience preferred, including in-house leadership.
• Experience in construction, restoration, insurance, or multi-location services industry preferred.
• Multi-state and multi-entity legal experience.
• Knowledge of construction law, contracts, litigation management, and corporate governance.
• Strong written and verbal communication with non-lawyer executives.
• Sound judgment and discretion with confidential information.
• Ability to travel as needed.
