Downtown Grand Hotel & Casino - Director Finance - Casino

The Director of Finance is the propertys senior financial leader and a member of the Executive Committee, responsible for hotel and casino accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, regulatory compliance, and asset protection. This leader partners with the General Manager, ownership, corporate finance, auditors, regulators, and department leaders to improve profitability, cash flow, and long-term asset value.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

  • Five to seven years of progressive finance or accounting experience in gaming, hospitality, or a similarly regulated, transaction-intensive environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, P&L analysis, balance sheet reconciliation, cash management, payroll, audit, and internal controls.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and the accounting, control, and regulatory requirements applicable to Nevada gaming operations.
  • Experience supporting multiple entities, intercompany accounting, and complex operating departments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, presentation, and team leadership skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency and experience with financial systems, hotel PMS/POS platforms, payroll/timekeeping tools, and casino accounting or revenue-audit systems.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and able to obtain and maintain required Nevada gaming registration or licensing.

Preferred

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA or other relevant professional certification.
  • Senior property finance leadership experience in an integrated hotel and casino operation.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as the senior finance advisor to the General Manager and Executive Committee, translating hotel and casino results into clear recommendations and actions.
  • Lead month-end close and deliver timely, accurate financial statements, management reports, balance sheet reconciliations, account analyses, and supporting schedules.
  • Lead annual operating and capital budgets and monthly P&L, cash, and capital forecasts; communicate risks, opportunities, and expected financial impact.
  • Analyze revenue, labor, departmental costs, margins, cash flow, and business trends; partner with operating leaders to achieve financial goals.
  • Maintain effective internal controls, segregation of duties, cash controls, accounting policies, and standard operating procedures that safeguard assets and support reliable reporting.
  • Oversee gaming revenue audit and accounting processes in accordance with Nevada Gaming Control Board Minimum Internal Control Standards and company policies.
  • Ensure timely and accurate gaming tax, fee, and license filings and provide finance support for AML/Title 31 and Suspicious Activity Report compliance.
  • Maintain records required for regulatory review and coordinate financial statement, internal control, gaming, tax, and other audits, including issue resolution and remediation.
  • Oversee General Ledger, Payroll, Purchasing, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Revenue Audit, and gaming-related accounting support functions.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the finance team while promoting accountability, integrity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor capital expenditures, project commitments, approvals, and returns; support strategic capital planning and asset-management priorities.
  • Obtain and maintain required Nevada gaming registration or licensing and perform other duties as assigned.
