You will gather and interpret financial data, evaluate industry trends, and assign credit ratings in line with established standards. Working closely with treasury and finance teams, senior credit leaders, and other stakeholders, you will help identify risks and recommend appropriate underwriting strategies. You will also present complex credit assessments to credit committees and contribute insights into evolving market conditions. This opportunity is ideal for an analytical finance professional who combines strong financial judgment, clear communication, and a proactive approach to risk management.

Accountabilities:

As a Senior Credit Analyst, you will oversee assigned credit exposures, conduct comprehensive financial assessments, and deliver actionable recommendations to support portfolio quality and risk management. Your work will combine quantitative analysis, qualitative research, stakeholder engagement, and industry monitoring.

  • Manage a portfolio of diverse corporate clients, including public and private companies, investment-grade and non-investment-grade credits, and middle-market to large corporate obligors.

  • Perform detailed financial statement analysis to assess creditworthiness, assign company credit ratings, and recommend appropriate underwriting strategies.

  • Collect, review, and interpret relevant credit information, including financial statements, tax returns, due diligence reports, credit bureau data, appraisals, internal credit records, industry research, and peer comparisons.

  • Prepare and present comprehensive credit recommendations for large exposures and strategically important accounts to senior credit management and other stakeholders in credit committee settings.

  • Build and maintain relationships with treasury and finance teams to obtain financial information, assess business performance, and discuss forecasts and financial outlooks.

  • Develop industry sector outlooks and analyze market trends, competitive dynamics, and other factors that may affect corporate credit risk.

  • Produce clear, well-supported qualitative and quantitative credit analyses to inform risk decisions and portfolio management.

  • Use financial research platforms, data analysis tools, and relevant AI-powered resources to improve research quality, analytical efficiency, and reporting productivity.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in corporate credit analysis, financial statement interpretation, and risk assessment, supported by experience in banking, insurance, or another financial institution. You should be comfortable evaluating complex financial information, forming independent conclusions, and communicating recommendations to both technical and senior business stakeholders.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; an MBA is preferred.

  • 5–7 years of relevant experience in banking, insurance, or other financial institutions.

  • Fundamental credit training, including financial statement analysis, is preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience analyzing the financial statements of both public and private companies.

  • Experience using credit rating platforms and financial research tools to conduct company research, retrieve financial data, and perform credit analysis.

  • Proven ability to produce thoughtful, well-structured qualitative and quantitative written analyses.

  • Excellent analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate financial risks and reach sound conclusions.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex financial information and present credit recommendations clearly.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis, data interpretation, and reporting.

  • Familiarity with generative AI tools and their use in research, extracting insights, and improving general productivity.

  • Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage a portfolio of credit exposures effectively.

Benefits:

  • Annual salary range: $90,000–$115,000 USD. Placement within the range depends on relevant experience, skills, and location.

  • Competitive compensation package.

  • Eligibility for an annual bonus and/or commission opportunities, where applicable.

  • 401(k) plan with a discretionary employer match of up to 6%.

  • Flexible work schedules to support work-life balance.

  • Health and wellness benefits.

  • Paid time off for vacation and illness, plus a birthday day off and a volunteer day off.

  • Tuition reimbursement to support continued learning and professional development.

  • Family care resources, including fertility and adoption benefits.

  • A commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and equal employment opportunities.
