As a member of our store team, you will represent and promote our operations with a positive, upbeat attitude while helping create a friendly and welcoming environment for every customer. You will work together with your teammates and other departments throughout the company to keep the store running smoothly, efficiently, and successfully.

Requirements: General Requirements for Both Positions- Provide friendly, courteous and efficient customer service.
- Greet customers and create a welcoming store environment.
- Report to work on time and reliably complete assigned shifts.
- Work independently while supporting the store team.
- Follow company policies, safety procedures and cleanliness standards.
- Maintain a professional appearance and follow the required dress code.
- Communicate respectfully with customers, coworkers and management.
- Complete assigned duties using the Daily Vision Sheet.
- Help maintain clean, organized and fully stocked work areas.
- Be available to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Complete required training and follow all applicable age restrictions.
- Accurately operate the point-of-sale system and cash register.
- Handle cash, credit cards, local account charges, coupons and other approved payment methods.
- Maintain an accurate cash drawer and follow till-counting procedures.
- Verify identification for age-restricted products, including tobacco, alcohol and lottery.
- Follow all laws and company policies related to restricted-product sales.
- Assist customers with fuel pumps, rewards accounts, car washes and store products.
- Stock shelves, coolers, displays and checkout areas.
- Rotate products and check expiration dates.
- Clean counters, floors, restrooms, coolers, fuel pumps and outside areas.
- Complete opening, closing and shift-change responsibilities.
- Promptly report shortages, equipment problems, customer concerns and safety hazards.
- Prepare, cook, package and serve food according to company recipes and portion standards.
- Follow all food-safety, sanitation and temperature-control requirements.
- Wash hands properly and use gloves and utensils as required.
- Prevent cross-contamination and follow safe food-handling procedures.
- Safely operate kitchen equipment, including ovens, fryers, grills, warmers and slicers, when properly trained.
- Monitor cooking, holding, cooling and storage temperatures.
- Label, date, rotate and properly store food products.
- Keep preparation areas, equipment, dishes and floors clean and sanitized.
- Maintain attractive, fresh and fully stocked food displays.
- Monitor food quality and discard products that do not meet company standards.
- Accurately complete food-production, waste and temperature records.
- Assist with food inventory and notify management when supplies are needed.
- Provide prompt, friendly service and accurately complete customer food orders.
Employees must be able to perform the following essential physical duties, with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the scheduled shift.
- Frequently bend, stoop, crouch, squat, kneel, twist and reach.
- Regularly use hands and fingers to operate registers, prepare food, stock merchandise and handle equipment.
- Frequently lift, carry, push and pull items weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Reach above shoulder level and work at varying heights.
- Safely use step stools or approved ladders when stocking and cleaning.
- Push or pull carts, racks, mop buckets and merchandise.
- Perform repetitive movements, including scanning products, handling money, stocking and food preparation.
- Work in refrigerated coolers and freezers for limited periods.
- Work near hot equipment, cooking surfaces, steam, grease and changing temperatures in deli areas.
- Tolerate exposure to cleaning products, food odors, noise and outdoor weather conditions.
- Maintain sufficient vision to read labels, expiration dates, identification cards, register screens and safety instructions.
- Maintain sufficient hearing and communication ability to assist customers, receive instructions and respond to alarms or safety concerns.
- Move safely around customers, displays, kitchen equipment and other workplace obstacles.
- Previous cashier, retail, food-service or customer-service experience is helpful but not required.
- Ability to learn new procedures and technology.
- Strong attention to detail and basic math skills.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Food-safety certification is preferred for deli associates or must be completed when required.
