Position Overview:

Responsible for effectively selling the credit union’s depository products to prospective consumer and business members working in an outside sales capacity. Generates new leads via consistent outreach in person, by phone, and community involvement, among other means. Prepares sales presentations, explains services offered, and recommends services which would benefit perspective members. Identifies opportunities to cross-sell other products and services. Works closely with assigned branch teams to create a warm servicing hand off to the branch. Ensures deposit and new account goals are achieved. Develops a partnership with assigned branch teams.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform sales of new consumer and business deposits by garnering new accounts.
  • Responsible for generating own leads in designated communities.
  • Effectively works independently and with branches and departments to provide best of class product offering.
  • Cultivate leads specific to developing new account and deposit opportunities for the Credit Union specifically targeting businesses, schools, and municipalities among other opportunities.
  • Act as subject matter expert (SME) in offering, selling, and servicing the following: Business and consumer checking, savings, money market accounts; Remote deposit capture; ACH origination; Account analysis; Positive pay; Payroll services; Merchant services; Payroll ACH services; Consumer initiated payments.
  • Maintain knowledge of and ability to instruct others on the following duties regarding Business Online Banking: Check balances, ATM/Debit Card transactions and cleared checks; Transfer funds between accounts – one time or recurring; Obtain copies of cleared checks online; View, print and save online statements; Online stop payments; Grant access to additional users (core and credit card master account); Sweep accounts; View all transactions and accounts for other financial institutions; Pay any tax due to the IRS using their Electronic Federal Tax Payment System; Easily transfer funds between credit union deposit accounts and perform P2P payments.
  • Knowledge of and ability to instruct others on the following duties regarding Business Bill Pay: Schedule recurring or one-time payments; Choose a checking account to make payments; Create and save vendor/payee information and reports; Take control of designated accounts – change or cancel payments anytime; Expedite payments.
  • Demonstrate superior strategic sales knowledge and maintain a high level of account product knowledge and a track record of being highly innovative and motivated.
  • Remain current and knowledgeable of all aspects of local, state, and federal regulations that affect the credit union.
  • Work with other member facing departments within the Credit Union to train on account product and service offerings, how to recognize needs.
  • Collaborate with other departments and team members on the preparation and presentation of Proposals and Request for Financial Proposals (RFP’s).
  • Review and analyze current and potential banking relationships and recommend appropriate products and services.
  • Actively participate in community organizations and events that will generate awareness of Frontier CU and deposit product offerings and create leads for prospective new memberships.
  • Develop new commercial/business core relationships for the credit union. Promoting the products and services the credit union has to offer.
  • Provide exceptional internal and external member service.
  • Understand, apply, and comply with all Credit Union Policies and Procedures, State and Federal laws and regulations, and adheres to requirements set forth by the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
  • Complete other assigned duties commensurate with position.
Requirements:

Qualifications/Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus at lease 2 years of financial industry experience or product sales.
  • Demonstrated success in product sales including goal achievement
  • Excellent communication and public relations skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Professional appearance, dress, and attitude
  • Able to coordinate and cooperate well with others
  • Understanding of credit union services and products provided
  • Operate a computer with proficiency of MS Office, Excellent knowledge of report software and processes
  • Communicate with courtesy, tact, and diplomacy in person and over the phone
  • Perform job functions independently with limited supervision, work effectively on own and as part of team
  • Ability to read and carry out various written instructions and follow verbal directions
  • Must remain composed in stressful, high-pressure situations. Calmly and professionally handle different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of member service
  • Demonstrate extreme accuracy and quality, effectively handle multiple tasks and changing priorities, and exercise highest level of discretion on both internal and external matters
  • Reports to work regularly; maintains reliable and timely attendance. Available to work the days and hours as dictated by business needs including some mornings or evenings outside of standard business hours
  • Occasional out of town travel and overnight stays may be required

Physical Requirements:

Position requires self-transportation, speaking and demonstrating to others; occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs. Operate routine office equipment including computer terminals, keyboards, telephones, copiers, and calculators. Work on computer for up to 8 hours per day at times. Some locations may require ability to climb or descend stairs with minimal assistance in emergency situations.
