Mama Money is a mission-driven fintech company focused on making cross-border money transfers safe, affordable, and accessible, as well as banking and other services. As a Social Media Specialist at Mama Money, you will play a key role in the day-to-day execution and growth of our social media presence across multiple platforms.



As our Social Media Specialist, you will:
  • Take full ownership of the day-to-day management, scheduling, publishing, and optimisation of Mama Money’s social media channels across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp and LinkedIn
  • Independently manage and maintain a structured content calendar, ensuring consistent, high-quality, and timely execution across all platforms.

  • Build, manage, and grow an influencer network across South Africa and key diaspora markets, including sourcing creators, managing relationships, and overseeing campaign execution.

  • Own the coordination and execution of social media competitions, promotions, and incentive-based campaigns, including planning, administration, and performance tracking.

  • Contribute to the planning and execution of integrated social media campaigns linked to product launches, marketing initiatives, and community engagement strategies.

  • Own social media reporting, tracking, and performance analysis, including engagement, reach, growth, and conversion impact (app installs, customer acquisition, and campaign ROI).

  • Translate performance insights into actionable recommendations to continuously improve content, campaigns, and overall social media strategy.
Experience & qualifications:
  • 3+ years’ experience in social media marketing & management, or content coordination, ideally within fintech, financial services, remittances, or fast-paced digital environments.
  • Proven ability to independently own and manage social media channels, content calendars, and campaign execution across multiple platforms.

  • Strong experience working across Meta Business Suite, TikTok, Instagram, WhatsApp and LinkedIn.

  • Demonstrated experience in influencer marketing, community growth, and campaign execution.

  • Confident using digital tools such as ChatGPT, scheduling platforms, analytics tools, and influencer management platforms.

  • The ability to manage influencers and ambassadors, ensuring content is delivered on time, and that we communicate clearly with them on time.

  • Solid understanding of social media analytics and performance reporting, with the ability to turn insights into strategic improvements.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, campaigns, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • High level of ownership, initiative, and entrepreneurial thinking with the ability to work independently and drive ideas from concept to execution.
