Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join our team. This role oversees tax engagements from planning through completion, mentors staff accountants, manages client relationships, and contributes to the firm's billing and profitability goals. This is an in-office position based at our Dallas office.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and review individual, business, and/or fiduciary tax returns for accuracy and compliance
- Develop and implement tax planning strategies for clients
- Mentor, train, and supervise staff accountants and senior associates, providing feedback and supporting their professional growth
- Manage client relationships, serving as a primary point of contact for assigned accounts
- Prepare and manage client billing, including monitoring engagement budgets, realization, and timely invoicing
- Communicate with clients regarding tax notices, deadlines, and planning opportunities
- Stay current on federal, state, and local tax law changes
- Collaborate with partners and other managers on firm initiatives and workflow management

Requirements:- CPA license required (or actively pursuing CPA with relevant experience)
- 5+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting
- Proven experience mentoring, training or supervising staff
- Experience with client billing, engagement budgets, and realization management
- Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
- Proficiency with tax preparation, tax planning and research software (e.g., Lacerte, CCH Axcess, Holistic plan)
- Must be authorized to work in the United States (we are unable to sponsor work visas for this position)
- Ability to work in-office
