This position is focused on troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and improving electrical and electronic control systems used in production machinery.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on technician with strong troubleshooting skills and experience working around industrial equipment, machine controls, sensors, motors, drives, control panels, and electrical schematics.

This role is focused on production equipment and machine controls, not primarily on building electrical installation. The main responsibility is to help keep equipment running safely, efficiently, and reliably.

Shift:

Day Shift: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Schedule A: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and every other Sunday.

Schedule C: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and every other Sunday.

Location:

Denver, Colorado area.

Essential Job Functions:

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, electronic, and control-related issues on production equipment.

• Diagnose issues involving PLC inputs and outputs, sensors, relays, contactors, safety circuits, control panels, motors, drives, encoders, photoeyes, limit switches, and other industrial control components.

• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, machine drawings, panel layouts, and OEM documentation.

• Troubleshoot and support variable frequency drives, servo drives, motor controls, starters, and related control circuits.

• Assist with PLC troubleshooting, including monitoring inputs and outputs, identifying failed components, and supporting program-related diagnostics when needed.

• Use multimeters, diagnostic tools, laptop-based software, and other test equipment to identify electrical and control system failures.

• Replace, wire, and test sensors, motors, drives, relays, fuses, power supplies, switches, contactors, circuit boards, and other electrical or electronic components.

• Perform preventive maintenance on electrical and electronic systems to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability.

• Support pressroom, bindery, finishing, packaging, and other production equipment as needed.

• Work with mechanics, operators, supervisors, vendors, and OEM technical support to resolve equipment issues.

• Assist with machine upgrades, control improvements, equipment moves, installations, and reliability projects.

• Document repairs, troubleshooting steps, part replacements, machine conditions, and follow-up needs clearly.

• Follow lockout/tagout procedures and all company safety policies when working on equipment.

• Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications / Competencies:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Hands-on experience troubleshooting industrial equipment, production machinery, or electrical/control systems.

• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, machine drawings, and OEM documentation.

• Experience troubleshooting electrical and electronic control systems on industrial or production equipment.

• Working knowledge of sensors, relays, contactors, motors, motor starters, safety circuits, control panels, and industrial wiring.

• Ability to use a multimeter and other diagnostic tools to troubleshoot electrical and control-related issues.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot logically instead of replacing parts without diagnosis.

• Ability to work safely around energized and de-energized equipment while following company safety procedures.

• Ability to work independently during the shift while communicating clearly with maintenance and production leadership.

• Willingness to document repairs, findings, and follow-up needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Formal education, training, or certification in electronics, electrical systems, automation, industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or a related technical field.

• Five or more years of hands-on experience troubleshooting industrial equipment, machine controls, or production machinery.

• Experience working with PLC-controlled equipment, including the ability to understand inputs, outputs, machine signals, and basic control logic.

• Experience with variable frequency drives, servo drives, AC/DC motors, motor controls, and industrial control panels.

• Experience with HMIs, industrial networks, safety circuits, and machine automation systems.

• Experience in printing, packaging, manufacturing, converting, or other industrial production environments.

• Experience troubleshooting older equipment as well as modern automated machinery.

• Experience working with OEM manuals, schematics, and technical support.

Candidate Profile:

We are looking for a hands-on technician with a strong troubleshooting mindset. The ideal candidate can work safely around industrial equipment, read electrical schematics, use a multimeter, follow machine signals, and diagnose electrical or control-related issues on production equipment.

A formal degree is not required. Candidates with relevant education, training, certification, or equivalent hands-on experience will be considered.

This position is a good fit for someone who enjoys solving machine problems, understanding how equipment works, and supporting production in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work around production equipment for extended periods.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.

• Must be able to work inside electrical panels and machine areas safely.

• Must be able to distinguish color-coded wiring.

• Must be comfortable working in an industrial manufacturing environment with noise, moving equipment, and production deadlines.

Work Environment:

This position is based in a production printing and manufacturing environment. The technician will support high-speed equipment, production machinery, electrical panels, control systems, utilities, and related equipment.

The role requires quick response to downtime, safe troubleshooting practices, and good communication with both maintenance and production teams.

Compensation:

Competitive pay based on experience, technical background, troubleshooting ability, and shift assignment.
