FLSA: Non-Exempt
$19.16- 26.00 Pay rates range and depend on experience and other factors
Job Overview: The Teacher promotes the mission and vision of Children of the Rainbow. Responsible for the overall supervision, care and instruction of infant, toddlers and pre-school children. Responsible for assessing, monitoring and teaching children in our program. Develops a curriculum that children will respond positively to. Partners with our team to enhance the learning environment at our school. Supports the Site Supervisor to provide the highest quality inclusive family-centered services.Mission and Values:

Implement lesson plans that are responsive, developmentally appropriate and address the needs of each child per the ASQ and DRDP.
Provide a variety of developmentally appropriate materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate and use, both in learning activities and in imaginative play.
Manage day-to-day classroom activities, to include structured lessons, free play, bathroom breaks, lunch time and rest time for students
Assist to create a safe, nurturing environment where children can play and learn.
Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times.
Collaborate with other teachers to ensure the school fosters and environment that is inviting and nurturing for every child.
Implementation of assessments such as ASQ’s and DRDPs.
Implementation of QPI and QRS quality Preschool Initiatives.
Provides coaching of Instructional Aides to ensure highest level of quality services for children in their classroom.
Meeting children’s basic needs (diapers, feeding, attention, etc.).
Deliver reports on potential concerns about students to Site Supervisor as needed.
Recognize the early sign of illness (e.g. lice, colds, runny nose etc.).
Follows daily schedules.
Be familiar with and follow all school policies and licensing regulations.
Report any suspicion of child abuse or neglect to the Site Supervisor and CPS.
Assists with decorating the class and keep classrooms clean, sanitized and orderly.
Must attend and participates in all designated mandatory workshops / trainings in-house or within the community.
Must complete required professional growth hours/ trainings to ensure on-going permit renewal.
Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
Teacher’s Permit:
Teachers Permit through the Department of Education / State of California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
Education level:
High school diploma or equivalent.
24 units of Early Childhood Education or Child Development plus 16 General Education units; or AA or higher in Early Childhood Education or Child Development or related field with 3 units supervised field experience in ECE/CD setting.
Experience:175 days of 3+ hours per days within 4 years.Requirements:Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must pass background Criminal Investigation Check.
Must pass preemployment physical.
Must pass T.B. test.
Must be able to obtain American Red Cross first Aid and CPR Certification within 60 days of hire.
Must be willing and available to work a flexible schedule.
Must complete Mandated Reporter Educator Training within 30 days of hire.
Specific skills:
Strong written and verbal skills are required.
