Location: On-Site at School-Based Program - Midland Elementary School
Reports To: Area Director
Schedule: Before & After School, School Breaks, and Summer Programs
This position will offer 35-38 hours/week, including required hours during our before and after school programs (Mon-Fri: 6AM-7:45AM and 3:15PM-6PM)
Pay: $22-25/hour, Based on experience and region
Position Overview
The Head Coach serves as the leader of an after-school program site, creating a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for children. This hands-on leadership role combines youth development, staff supervision, program operations, and relationship building with families and school partners.
The ideal candidate is energetic, organized, and passionate about helping children build confidence, resilience, and life skills.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership
- Lead daily program operations and ensure a positive experience for students.
- Facilitate engaging enrichment, academic support, recreation, and character-building activities.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming program environment.
- Manage student attendance, transitions, and dismissal procedures.
Team Development
- Supervise and support site staff.
- Provide coaching, training, and ongoing feedback to team members.
- Lead staff meetings and promote a positive team culture.
Family & School Partnerships
- Build strong relationships with students, families, and school personnel.
- Communicate program updates, successes, and student needs.
- Represent the organization professionally within the school community.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with state licensing regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate program records and documentation.
- Respond appropriately to incidents, emergencies, and behavioral concerns.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of leadership experience in education, childcare, youth development, recreation, or a related field.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead staff while actively engaging with children.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Child Development, Human Services, or a related field preferred.
State Requirements:
All candidates must be 21 years old or older and have the following:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Has completed at least 1 course in business administration or 12 contact hours in administrative related training related to personnel, supervision, recordkeeping, or one year of administrative related experience
- Has Pediatric CPR, First Aid and mandatory reporter training completed
- Must have a total of 100 points obtained through a combination of education, experience and child-related training
Physical Requirements
- Ability to actively participate in indoor and outdoor activities.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout program hours.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds occasionally.
