The Pay Range for the position is $62,113 - $100,310 based on Certification and years of experience

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under general direction, the Teacher creates and maintains an engaging, inclusive, and rigorous learning environment that supports student achievement and prepares learners for future academic, career, and life success. The Teacher plans, delivers, and assesses standards-based instruction; fosters critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving; and supports students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development. Responsibilities include curriculum planning, classroom management, student assessment, differentiation of instruction to meet diverse learning needs, and participation in ongoing professional learning. The Teacher collaborates with colleagues, families, and school staff to support student success, implements school-wide instructional and behavioral expectations, and maintains effective communication with students, parents/guardians, and other stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Instructional Leadership & Curriculum Development

• Develops and delivers rigorous, standards-aligned lessons that foster analytical thinking and subject-matter expertise.
• Utilizes differentiated instruction to meet the needs of diverse learner styles and student needs.
• Assesses student progress toward academic learning objectives.
• Uses instructional techniques and materials appropriate to the subject area and students' developmental levels.
• Creates and modifies curriculum materials to enhance student learning and align with state and school standards.
• Designs assessments to measure student growth, competency, and skill mastery.
• Relays content in diverse ways (visual, verbal, written, hands-on, interactive) to maximize student engagement.
• Periodically evaluates the effectiveness of instruction and makes necessary adjustments.
• Integrates technology, project-based learning, and real-world applications into instruction.
• Teaches with calm, patience, and creativity while employing motivating methods.
• Develops and presents lessons whose performance objectives are understood by the students and are supportive of school goals and objectives.

Classroom Management & Student Engagement

Assessment, Student Support, & Data Management

• Uses data-driven instruction to guide lesson planning and student interventions.
• Maintains accurate student records, including grades, attendance, and assessment data, using PowerTeacher Pro Gradebook/Google Classroom Gradebook in a timely manner.
• Inputs final grades into the grading system before established deadlines.
• Analyzes student performance to differentiate instruction and implement targeted supports.
• Identifies and supports the diverse learning needs of students, including those receiving special education services.
• Plans lessons with standards-based IEP goals in mind for students with disabilities.
• Cooperates with education specialists and paraprofessionals to provide necessary student accommodations.
• Supports college and career readiness by incorporating real-world skills, project-based learning, and post-secondary planning.
• Provides academic support and office hours for students as needed.

Collaboration & Professional Responsibilities

• Demonstrates and promotes punctuality and effective time management.
• Properly uses prep periods for instructional planning.
• Engages in professional development, workshops, and educational conferences to remain current on best practices.
• Participates in interdisciplinary collaboration and school-wide instructional initiatives.
• Provides mentorship to new teachers, student teachers, and support staff when applicable.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position will include indoor and outdoor work (classroom, offices, cafeteria, eating area, common area, auditorium, playground(s), restroom(s), stairs if applicable, roof(s) and parking lot(s)) and/or shop environment including confined spaces with the following possible exposures: dust; wind; sun; insects; chemicals including hazardous chemicals, solvents and oil; fumes from chemicals and odors; grease; bloodborne pathogens and biohazardous waste; variances in temperature; variances in weather conditions (snow, rain, sleet, etc.); electrically and mechanically operated equipment with moving parts; noise which can range from quiet to loud at any given time; playground projectiles such as baseballs, footballs, basketballs, etc.; intervening physically to stop conflicts between angry or emotionally upset students; and dealing with students, parents, employees and the general public who may exhibit unpredictable or anti-social behavior.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND TRAINING

Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying.

? Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies, Teaching, or a related field from an accredited college or university. (Required)

? Valid California Teaching Credential from the Commission on Teacher Credentialing in Single Subject for the subject taught with an EL/CLAD Authorization or in the process of receiving one from CTC. (Required)

? One (1) year of classroom setting teaching students preferably in an urban environment.

? Bilingual in English and Spanish. (Required)

? CPR Certification. (Required)
