Lead Refrigeration Designer in Port Charlotte, Florida at Emanuelson - Podas Inc

POSITION SUMMARY

This position will entail working at a fast pace and will require working cooperatively with people to complete tasks.

This position requires collaborative work within the organization and will be integral in bringing out the best in others.

This position will require a strong sense of urgency, initiative, and drive to get things done correctly, with emphasis on working with and through people in the process.

Decisions will have to be made under pressure and will generally need the ideas and advice of others. The position will involve controlling all aspects of tasks: from the initiation, working the process, and seeing them through to completion.

Utilize the following software to complete tasks accurately and on time: Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Revit, Sporlan Virtual Engineer, Copeland Product Selection, Paycor, and Teamwork.

OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES

PROJECT DESIGN AND REFRIGERATION ENGINEERING DEVELOPMENT

• Assist and lead owner in making informed decisions on refrigeration systems.
• Offer responsive construction administration services.
• Meet project deadlines, this may require overtime hours.
• Manage multiple priorities, both internal and external.
• Fully understand and enforce EP drafting standards.
• Gain trust with clients contributing to an increase share of wallet.
• Develop accurate, code-compliant, coordinated, and efficient designs.
• Utilize company software to complete tasks and manage staff accurately, effectively, and on time.
• Communicate effectively with staff and other design professionals.
• Perform routine project quality assurance checks and use as opportunity to train junior staff.
• Mentor less experience staff to help them develop on projects.
• Perform facility assessments and site verifications.
• Compose schematic design, code response, and addendum narratives, utilizing junior staff where possible.
• Make EP better - specifications, processes, details, code knowledge, etc.

REFRIGERATION DESIGN

• Accurately, efficiently size and lay out all aspects of refrigeration systems on floor plans, schedules, and details. This includes refrigeration load calculations, energy calculations, refrigerant charge calculations, and refrigeration control design.
• Review of existing equipment and evaluating existing/new.
• Construction administration tasks such as shop drawing review, RFI's, site inspections, and reports.
• Accurately, efficiently size and lay out all aspects of refrigeration systems on floor plans, schedules, and details. This includes sizing and layout of refrigerant piping, evaporators, compressors, control valves, and condensers.

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in refrigeration system design.
• Authorization to work in the US. No visa sponsorship available.

• Projects are organized, prioritized, and progressing on schedule, with clear direction and minimal confusion for the team.
• Refrigeration designs are technically sound, well-coordinated, and delivered with minimal rework.
• Continuous improvement in refrigeration standards, processes, and capabilities.
