IT Support Technician in Los Angeles Metropolitan Area, California at ClearFreight

ClearFreight is seeking a skilled IT Support Technician with proven expertise in Customs Compliance systems to join our growing Technical Support team. This role serves as a key point of contact for resolving technical issues related to Customs EDI transmissions, CargoWise operations, and IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate brings a blend of hands-on technical support experience, knowledge of international trade systems, and the ability to communicate effectively across departments in a fast-paced logistics environment

Essential Job Functions:

• Serve as the first point of contact for all IT service request related to hardware, software, network connectivity, mobile devices, and VoIP systems
• Install, configure, and troubleshooting PCs, printers, servers, phones, and network devices across local and remote sites
• Organize and maintain IT inventory, including hardware and software license tracking, and assist with deployment and retirement of devices
• Support employee onboarding and offboarding by preparing IT resources and access permissions
• Perform network administration tasks, including configuration and installation of network devices, and Tier 1 troubleshooting of connectivity issues
• Maintain and update IT asset inventories, software licenses, and hardware lifecycle records
• Participate in IT and compliance-related projects to strengthen system reliability and user experience

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field; or 4+ years of equivalent hands-on experience in system/network administration and IT support
• Minimum 1-3 years of experience supporting customs systems and compliance environments within logistics, freight forwarding or related industries
• Hands on experience with CargoWise Next including import/export modules, EDI integration and system, troubleshooting
• Strong understanding of U.S. Customs processes, ACE portal, ABI, ACI (Canada), AFR (Japan) and related data transmission protocols
• Skilled in troubleshooting EDI message errors and ensuring compliance across multiple authorities
• Excellent problem solving, analytical, and communications skills with a customer focused approach
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively guide users and document technical solutions
• Demonstrated proficiency in Windows 11, macOS, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, VMware (ESXi/vCenter), and network security principles
• Working Knowledge of LAN/WAN infrastructure, IP networking, VoIP systems subnetting, and routing protocols
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs and perform extended periods of standing or sitting as required
