Position Summary:
Prestige Trucking Insurance is seeking a Client & Career Development Specialist to drive new business growth, strengthen our carrier partnerships, and improve the service experience for our current insureds. Working with a dedicated team of 10+ offshore team members who support the sales and submission paperwork process, this person will develop and close new business, serve as a key point of contact between our production team and our carriers, and partner with leadership to improve client service and retention.
The ideal candidate combines trucking insurance sales experience with strong relationship-building skills. They can generate and manage a healthy pipeline, work effectively with carrier partners and remote team members, and turn client feedback into practical service improvements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
New Business Development & Team Coordination:
- Prospect and develop new business leads.
- Partner with the Marketing team to generate a steady pipeline of qualified leads for the offshore team.
- Coordinate with the offshore team to keep submissions moving efficiently from lead to quote to bind.
- Manage and close the opportunities generated by the offshore team.
Carrier Relationships & Development:
- Serve as a key point of contact between the production team and carriers, ensuring submitted business fits each carrier's appetite while continuing to build those relationships.
- Maintain strong, consistent communication with carrier partners.
- Understand each carrier's appetite and underwriting guidelines.
- Identify growth opportunities within existing carrier partnerships.
- Assist with and participate in carrier meetings.
- Help resolve production and underwriting issues.
- Work with management to strengthen and expand carrier partnerships.
Client Service & Operational Improvement:
- Build relationships across Prestige leadership to identify ways to better serve current insureds.
- Gather and evaluate client feedback on endorsements, claims, renewals, and certificates of insurance (COIs).
- Identify gaps and pain points in current service processes.
- Recommend and help implement solutions that improve the client experience and retention.
Compensation & Book of Business:
This position's team, production, pipeline, book of business, and compensation are maintained separately from all existing books of business, accounts, pipelines, and client referrals within the agency. Commissions are earned only on business generated by this position and its offshore team and closed/bound under this position's responsibility. If an existing account or opportunity is specifically reassigned to this position, commission treatment will be determined separately at that time.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA’s):
- Trucking & Commercial Insurance Knowledge — Understands trucking and transportation insurance, including coverage lines, carrier appetite, and underwriting guidelines, and applies that knowledge to place business that fits each carrier.
- Business Development & Sales Skills — Prospects, qualifies, and closes new business, managing opportunities efficiently from lead to quote to bind.
- Carrier Relationship Management — Builds and sustains trusted relationships with carrier partners and works proactively to resolve production and underwriting issues.
- Team Coordination Abilities — Coordinates effectively with offshore and remote team members to keep submissions moving and priorities clear.
- Client Service Orientation — Evaluates client feedback on endorsements, claims, renewals, and COIs, and recommends practical improvements that strengthen service and retention.
- Communication & Relationship-Building Skills — Communicates clearly and persuasively, both verbally and in writing, with clients, carrier representatives, leadership, and team members.
- Integrity & Accountability — Consistently demonstrates a high level of professional integrity, ethical conduct, and personal accountability in all internal, client, and carrier interactions.
- Confidentiality Knowledge & Practice — Maintains the highest degree of confidentiality when handling client, carrier, and commission information.
- Organizational & Time Management Skills — Manages a high volume of leads, submissions, and follow-ups simultaneously with minimal guidance, meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy.
Minimum Qualifications:
Required:
- Experience in commercial insurance sales or account management, preferably in trucking and transportation insurance.
- Proven ability to prospect, develop, and close new business.
- Working knowledge of carrier appetite, underwriting guidelines, and the submission process from quote to bind.
- Experience coordinating with or leading remote or offshore support teams.
- Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
- Active insurance license appropriate for the position, or the ability to obtain one as required.
Preferred:
- Existing relationships with trucking or commercial transportation carriers or MGAs.
- Proficiency with agency management systems and CRM platforms.
- Professional insurance designations such as CIC, CPCU, or similar.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Requires extended periods of sitting, computer use, and handling digital documents, along with clear communication via phone and video.
- Professional office work setting with standard office equipment and moderate noise levels.
- Fast-paced environment with occasional extended hours during renewal cycles or high-volume submission periods.
- Occasional travel may be required for carrier meetings, industry events, and conferences.
- Requires handling confidential client, carrier, and commission information in compliance with privacy and legal standards.
