Scope of Position:

The Feeder Packer is primarily responsible for inserting documents. The Feeder Packer also loads materials into machines, inspects, and packs according to job instructions.

Responsibilities:

• Insert printed documents, pieces, or components into folders, envelopes, kits, or other products according to the job instructions and approved samples
• Assemble, collate, sort, count, and package materials accurately and within the production schedule
• Receive verbal instruction on priority of orders
• Package parts together according to production schedule or verbal instructions
• Operate various packaging equipment including bagging machine and shrink-wrapping machine
• Label finished products and complete paperwork
• Feed materials into production equipment as assigned, maintaining a steady and safe flow of work
• Confirm the correct job materials are being used and visually inspect pieces before feeding or assembly
• Inspect finished product for defects and pack acceptable pieces into cartons according to job instructions
• Label cartons, complete required production paperwork, and maintain accurate counts
• Assist with job changeovers and line clearances to prevent materials from different jobs being mixed
• Standing, walking, and bending for extended periods
• Adhere to all safety and quality standards as directed by company
• Feeding:

• Move die cut material skids into correct machine position using pump jack
• Confirm correct job material is at feed end of machine
• Stage lifts of material onto table for pre inspection prior to loading
• Fan and visually inspect flat die cut pieces prior to placing into feed hopper
• Keep work areas clean and neat
• Perform any other duties as requested

• Packing:

• Visually inspect finished pieces for quality and pack in cartons per job instructions
• Assist with line clearances
• Keep work areas clean and neat
• Perform any other duties as requested

Qualifications:

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 0-1 year of experience in a hand assembly, inserting, packing, machine feeding, print finishing, or a similar production role
• Experience with Wire-O, Coil and Punch machines
• Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions
• Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions
• Ability to lift and carry at least 35 pounds
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to read work orders, follow drawings, sample assemblies, or verbal orders to assemble products
• Ability to set-up daily work according to production schedule or verbal instructions
• Experience working in a fast pace and repetitive environment
