This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Connectivity & API Transformation based in United States.

This is a senior engineering role focused on the connectivity and API foundations of a large-scale WebOps platform. You’ll design and evolve the interfaces, networking patterns, and orchestration systems that connect services across the platform. The role combines hands-on Go development with distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, API architecture, and legacy modernization. You’ll work on systems supporting hundreds of thousands of websites, billions of monthly page views, and large-scale containerized workloads. Your technical decisions will establish patterns and contracts that other engineering teams rely on. You’ll also contribute to production reliability, technical standards, mentorship, and the continued evolution of the platform.

• Build and evolve a unified federated GraphQL API and the Go-based subgraphs powering customer-facing dashboards and public APIs.

• Shape service connectivity through VPC and network architecture, service discovery, authentication, and internal traffic standards.

• Decompose legacy Python systems into well-defined modern services while managing the associated Cassandra data layer, including replication, backup, and disaster recovery.

• Design and operate workflow orchestration at scale using cloud-native workflows, Pub/Sub-driven execution, and Go services.

• Establish API standards across GraphQL, gRPC, and REST, serving as a technical resource for engineering initiatives across the organization.

• Own production systems by defining and monitoring SLOs, resolving incidents, and balancing reliability with delivery speed.

• Participate in engineering and alert-response on-call rotations and support live production environments.

• Raise engineering quality through code reviews, architectural feedback, technical guidance, and mentorship.

• Significant professional experience building and operating production services with Go, together with the ability to work effectively in polyglot environments involving Python and/or Rust.

• Proven experience designing APIs used by other engineering teams, including sound judgment around schemas, versioning, compatibility, and API evolution across GraphQL, gRPC, or REST.

• Strong experience with large-scale, high-traffic distributed systems and the design of reliable, scalable production services.

• Experience decomposing monolithic applications or incrementally modernizing legacy systems while maintaining production continuity.

• Working knowledge of cloud networking fundamentals, including VPCs, DNS, load balancing, and service-to-service authentication.

• Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, and modern release engineering practices.

• Experience with a major cloud provider; GCP experience is particularly relevant.

• Familiarity with observability platforms and practices, including Grafana Cloud, Prometheus, and OpenTelemetry.

• Experience supporting production systems and participating in on-call rotations.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical decisions while incorporating diverse perspectives.

• Nice-to-have experience includes GraphQL Federation, federation gateways or routers, schema registries, Rust, Cassandra, stateful production databases, service meshes, private networking, GCP Workflows, Pub/Sub, Cloud Run, AlloyDB, MySQL, Redis, Docker, CircleCI, GitHub Actions, Vault, WordPress, or Drupal.

• Annual salary of $139,680–$174,600 USD, plus bonus and equity.
