Job Title: HR Generalist

Hourly Rate: $27-$32 (Non-Exempt)

Department: Human Resources

Reports to: HR Manager

Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 8:00am-5:00pm and Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm

Location: Riverside, Ca

Travel: 5% local travel

Job Summary:

The Human Resources Generalist supports the daily functions of the Human Resources department including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, and HR policy implementation. This position plays a key role in maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws while fostering a positive and professional workplace culture.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Administer and support HR policies, procedures, and programs.

  • Assist with the recruitment process including job postings, applicant screening, interview coordination, and reference checks.

  • Assist with new hire onboarding and orientation.

  • Maintain employee personnel files and HRIS systems ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.

  • Assist employees with benefits questions and enrollment.

  • Support payroll processes by ensuring timecard approvals, employee changes, and documentation are submitted accurately and timely.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

  • Assist with workers’ compensation claims and leave administration (FMLA, CFRA, disability leave, etc).

  • Support training programs and employee development initiatives.

  • Assist with policy development and updates to the employee handbook.

  • Generate HR reports and maintain required compliance records.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of Human Resources experience; or combination of Bachelor in Human Resources and 1 year experience.

  • Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.

  • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (such as ADP Workforce Now preferred).

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
