Job Description
Quality Improvement Coordinator RN
Full-time

• Quality Improvement Department:
• Plays a key role in supporting THSW's priorities by using clinical experience and data analysis to improve quality, safety, and overall performance.
• Help turn quality and safety goals into real, measurable improvements by providing structure, coordination, and ongoing monitoring to ensure progress is sustained.
• Uses data-driven performance and process improvement methods, along with patient safety and high-reliability principles, to improve outcomes and operational efficiency.
Works closely with leadership, quality, risk, and frontline teams to identify trends, reduce variation, and drive improvements that enhance patient safety.
• Work hours: Full-time, Exempt position, 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, mainly 8AM-5PM.
Here's What You Need
• Associate's degree Graduate from an accredited school of nursing Required AND
• Bachelor's Degree (BSN) Preferred Or
Master's degree health-related field Preferred (ie. Care Management, CNL, Health Care leadership)
• RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire required
• CPHQ - Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality Upon Hire Preferred
• 3 Years' clinical experience in an acute care setting Required
• 1 Year Experience in healthcare quality/performance improvement Preferred
• High level skills with the following applications: Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Must have the ability to communicate verbally and in writing in a clear, concise, professional manner with various audiences. Understands and appreciates the sensitive and confidential nature of quality, safety and performance improvement activities.
• Working knowledge of Joint Commission and CMS standards, performance improvement tools, and data collection and analysis.
• Ability to collect, interpret, analyze, and present information to help inform organizational operations and decision making.
What You Will Do
• Professional Engagement:
- Pursues/achieves/maintains required applicable certification and licensure.
- Pursues professional growth and development of required knowledge and skills.
• Leadership & Integration:
- Promote stakeholder engagement and interprofessional collaboration to improve care processes, patient outcomes, and patient experience.
- Communicate effectively with a wide variety of audiences to support achievement of quality goals.
• Performance and Process Improvement (PPI): Improvement Methods, PPI Project Management, Change Management
- Implement standard performance and process improvement (PPI) methods.
- Communicate PPI priorities, progress, and results using a variety of narrative and visual tools.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement that leads to sustained results and optimal performance.
• Health Data Analytics: Data Management and Turning Data into Information
- Acquire data from source systems.
- Protect privacy and security of data.
- Guide the interpretation of data using best-practice standards and tools to summarize findings using data visualizations.
• Patient Safety: Support Culture of Safety, Identify/Evaluate Risk for Harm, Mitigate Risk for Harm
- Use organizational procedures to identify and report patient safety risks and events.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze patient safety risks and events.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and safety by promoting a safety culture and infrastructure that aligns with organizational strategic objectives.
• Regulatory, Accreditation, and Certification: Culture of Continuous Readiness and Compliance
- Use knowledge of standards and regulations to facilitate and support continuous regulatory compliance, serving as a subject matter expert for others.
- Develop/implement/sustain survey readiness activities.
- Facilitate actual and mock surveys from arrival through completion of post-survey activities.
• Quality Review and Accountability: Professional Practice/Peer Review Standards, Quality and Cost Accountability Programs
- Monitor the impact of value-based payment initiatives and quality report cards
- Manage performance improvement work related to opportunities identified from accountability reports.
- Apply knowledge of FPPE and OPPE standards and professional practice standards to support a robust and non-punitive initial and ongoing review of medical staff performance based on regulatory requirements.
