As a Billing Specialist III at the Puyallup Tribal Health Authority (PTHA), you will perform advanced billing functions — including claim processing, payment posting, insurance verification, and denial resolution — while also supporting team workflows, reporting, and compliance. Your work ensures patient accounts are managed with precision, timeliness, and full alignment with payer requirements and organizational standards.

What You’ll Do:

  • Submit electronic claims (837) and reconcile remittance advice (835) daily
  • Analyze payer reports to identify trends, errors, and process improvement opportunities
  • Coordinate daily team workflows and serve as a resource for complex billing issues

  • Generate reports, oversee month-end processes, and maintain compliance with all regulatory and Tribal billing requirements

What You Bring:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Six (6) years of recent experience in medical billing or revenue cycle operations
  • Two (2) years of Medicare billing experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in advanced billing functions, denial resolution, and workflow coordination
  • Dental billing experience preferred

  • (13) annual leave (vacation) days + (13) annual sick leave days
  • (18+) annual paid holidays including a birthday holiday
  • 401(k) with annual profit-sharing contributions after (2) years of service
  • Life and AD&D insurance coverage
