Overview:
The Accounting Specialist is responsible for managing homeowner payments to associations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial transactions. This role is integral to the success of the accounting department and overall company performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process payments for regular and special assessments, late fees, and collections.
• Generate and distribute billing statements via mail and email.
• Draft and coordinate statement messages for each billing cycle.
• Assist the Accounting Manager with late fee assessments and application.
• Respond to homeowner inquiries regarding account balances via phone and email.
• Oversee collection procedures, including issuing collection letters and tracking communications.
• Monitor and report waived late fees.
• Update homeowner information, including off-site addresses and ACH details.
• Handle bank returns and communicate fees to the CFO and homeowners.
• Print and mail daily collection notices.
• Guide homeowners in setting up electronic payments through the website.
• File liens/foreclosures and coordinate with attorneys, boards, and managers.
• Track and manage the lien/foreclosure process.
• Assist with Homewise website management and ownership changes.
• Perform bank reconciliations.

This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
