About This Position
We are looking for a dependable and knowledgeable Classroom Support Specialist to support high-quality learning and smooth daily operations in our childcare center. This position plays a key role in coaching teachers, ensuring curriculum fidelity, providing classroom coverage, opening the center each morning, and assisting with administrative and transportation needs.
The ideal candidate is flexible, confident in the classroom, passionate about curriculum, and committed to helping teachers grow. Training will be provided for all administrative and transportation-related duties.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Coaching & Learning Support
Learn and implement Learning Beyond Paper and our BrightSteps Global Education Curriculum.
Coach teachers in lesson planning, classroom setup, and daily curriculum execution.
Model best practices in instruction, engagement, and behavior guidance.
Help maintain curriculum materials and ensure learning environments are prepared each day.
Classroom Support & Coverage
Provide coverage for teachers during breaks, planning periods, meetings, and staffing gaps.
Step into any classroom and confidently maintain routines, safety, and curriculum flow.
Assist during busy transitions such as meals, nap time, arrivals, and departures.
Opening Responsibilities
Open the center following all licensing and safety procedures. Opening hours start at 6:30 am
Prepare classroom materials, review daily schedules, and support early-arriving children.
Communicate with families and staff to ensure a smooth start each day.
Transportation Duties
Drive the center’s bus/van to transport school-age children as needed.
Follow all transportation and safety guidelines (training provided).
Complete required pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
Administrative Support
Assist with attendance logs, curriculum prep, incident reports, and supply inventory.
Support leadership with assigned administrative tasks; training is provided.
Qualifications
Experience in early childhood education preferred.
Strong communication and coaching skills; enjoys helping teachers grow.
Able to multitask and move between classrooms smoothly.
Willing to learn childcare curriculum systems and center procedures.
Meets or can meet transportation requirements (training available).
Reliable, flexible, and professional.
