Job Summary

The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing all daily operations of the manufacturing facility, ensuring production goals are met efficiently, safely, and within budget. This role drives continuous improvement, maintains high-quality standards, and fosters a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence.

Primarily Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all plant operations including production, maintenance, quality, safety, and logistics, ensuring manufacturing output meets engineering specifications, quality requirements, and production targets.
  • Develop and execute production plans to meet customer demand and delivery schedules.
  • Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) such as efficiency, throughput, downtime, cycle time, scrap rates, OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), machine utilization, and quality yields.
  • Enforce plant-wide safety policies in accordance with OSHA and internal company regulations.
  • Manage plant budgets, control costs, and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Oversee hiring, training, performance management, and development of plant personnel.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives based on engineering assessments and process-flow data. (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering and production, quality, and logistics.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, environmental regulations, and industry standards.
  • Drive process optimization and adoption of new technologies were applicable.
  • Interpret mechanical and electrical schematics to identify root causes of equipment failure.
  • Develop production schedules and material flow plans based on equipment capability, engineering cycle times, staffing levels, and inventory needs.
  • Support installation, testing, and process validation for new or upgraded systems.
  • Lead root-cause cause investigations into production defects, equipment breakdowns, or workflow inefficiencies using engineering tools such as FMEA, fishbone diagrams, and statistical analysis.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or related field.
  • 7+ years of manufacturing experience, with at least three years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing plant operations or a similar production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of production processes, quality control, and safety regulations.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
