Jr. Staff Accountant in Laredo, Texas at Ariva Group

Position Summary

The Jr. Staff Accountant will assist with month-end and year-end close process, bank reconciliations, accounts payable and accounts receivable, and assist with postings to the general ledger.

Primary Purpose: The Jr. Staff Accountant will collect, compile and enter payroll data using appropriate software. Review and verify source documents.

Essential Functions

• Help process month-end and year-end close process
• Supervise accounts payable team members
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts to general ledger
• Post month-end journal entries
• Provide monthly reports comparing actual results with budgeted projections and writing budget variance notes
• Assist in the process of developing budgets
• Support all day-to-day accounting functions
• Bank reconciliations
• Process account payables vouchers and deposit accounts receivables checks
• As other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

· Must be detailed oriented.

· Maintain effective working relationships with company’s external partners

· Excellent communication and analytical skills

· Bilingual (English and Spanish)

· Knowledge of relevant software (Excel, Word, Quickbooks or other accounting software packages)

· Understanding of basic accounting principles

· Understanding of internal controls of Account Payable and Account Receivable.

Education and Experience

· Minimum 1-2 years of accounting experience
