Position:
The Human Resources Generalist provides support to the Human Resources team, specifically for our Military OneSource contract, with a focus on recruitment, onboarding, employee support, and HR operations. This role requires a high level of discretion, strong initiative, and supports both day-to-day HR needs and ongoing projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee and manager HR inquiries, ensuring timely, accurate resolution and follow-up
- Manage full-cycle recruitment including sourcing strategy development, candidate sourcing, resume review, and selection aligned to role requirements
- Source candidates using job boards, networking, and social media to build and maintain a qualified talent pipeline
- Conduct phone screens to assess candidate qualifications and fit
- Create, format, and post job requisitions across multiple job boards and platforms
- Maintain regular communication and intake updates for active and upcoming requisitions
- Ensure a positive candidate experience through consistent and professional communication throughout the hiring process
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a seamless employee experience
- Facilitate new hire onboarding and ensure completion of required documentation and processes
- Support payroll activities by reviewing and validating employee data, including time off, holidays, and employment changes
- Partner with payroll to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll
- Administer and track employee leaves of absence, including FMLA, short-term disability, parental leave, and other applicable programs
- Manage HR ticketing systems (e.g., Jira), ensuring accurate documentation, tracking, and resolution
- Provide guidance to employees and managers on company policies, procedures, and employee relations matters
- Assist with employee relations matters, including documentation, investigations, and follow-up actions as needed
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records across HR systems (e.g., Paylocity, Zoho)
- Partner with HR leadership to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and internal policies
- Assist with audits, reporting, and HR projects as assigned
- Support benefits administration projects in partnership with the Benefits Manager
- Contribute as a member of the HR team to support departmental goals and initiatives
- Serve as a member of the HR team; perform duties necessary to ensure the team's projects/goals are completed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- 5+ years of experience in HR Generalist and/or full-cycle recruiting roles
- Experience supporting HR operations in a government contract strongly preferred
- Experience with HRIS platforms (e.g., Paylocity, Zoho)
- Experience using ATS and/or ticketing systems (e.g., Jira, JazzHR)
- Experience supporting compliance with the McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA), including understanding prevailing wage and fringe benefit requirements
- Strong understanding of HR best practices and employment law fundamentals
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
- Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
- Strong collaboration skills in a fast-paced environment
- This role is structured as a six (6) month temporary assignment, with the possibility of transitioning into a full-time position depending on performance and business need
