As the Business Banker at Bank of Sun Prairie, you will be a key player in driving the growth of our business banking portfolio. This role is all about building strong relationships with clients, developing innovative financial solutions, and enhancing the bank's market presence. You’ll work closely with senior management to achieve ambitious growth targets, manage a diverse loan portfolio, and ensure every client interaction reflects the highest standards of service and integrity. Requirements:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Building and Nurturing Business Relationships:

  • Develop and expand depository and credit business accounts by meeting or exceeding annual goals set by senior management and the Board of Directors.
  • Engage with existing and potential clients, visiting loan sites, negotiating terms, and approving loans within established limits.
  • Present comprehensive financing requests to the Loan Committee and Board of Directors, ensuring each proposal aligns with the bank’s strategic goals.
  • Actively participate in weekly loan meetings, reviewing maturing loans, addressing past due accounts, and discussing other operational concerns.
  • Drive business development through strategic sales calls, bank referrals, and active participation in community and civic events.
  • Represent the bank in various community reinvestment initiatives, enhancing its market position in the financing sector.

Managing Credit Quality and Portfolio Health:

  • Oversee customer relationships within your loan portfolio, ensuring high-quality service and financial stability.
  • Regularly monitor the quality of your portfolio, tracking loan repayments, deposit activity, and overall financial health.
  • Take proactive steps to collect on past due accounts, minimizing the bank’s exposure to risk and loss.
  • Stay informed about changes in lending and compliance regulations, ensuring all activities are aligned with the latest legal standards.
  • Abide and reinforce all compliance laws and regulations.

Driving Cross-Selling and Service Integration:

  • Enhance the bank’s market position by cross-selling relevant services to existing and prospective clients, deepening relationships, and broadening the scope of services offered.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless client experience, making referrals and connecting clients with the right banking solutions.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in internal committees as assigned by senior management and the Board of Directors, contributing your insights and expertise to drive strategic initiatives.
  • Take on additional duties as needed, always ready to support the team and contribute to the bank’s overall success.

SKILLS

  • Expertise in commercial, construction and real estate loan processing.
  • Deep understanding of state and federal lending and compliance regulations, as well as bank lending policies.
  • Strong marketing and business development skills, with a proven track record of achieving growth targets.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing shifting deadlines and priorities with ease.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.

The incumbent is a position that requires sitting, standing, bending and walking requirements. WORKING CONDITIONS

This position is located in an office environment with artificial lighting and controlled heating/air conditioning. The position includes prolonged periods of working on a computer and repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers. The incumbent needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
