Follett Content Solutions helps build a diverse collection of print and digital resources to support every student. We are currently hiring for a Sales Enablement & Training Manager.

This position is a full-time exempt position located in McHenry, IL. The pay for the position is $105,000 - $115,000 per year along with bonus potential. We offer a hybrid work schedule with 3 days in the office (Monday, Tuesday & Thursday) and 2 remote days (Wednesday & Friday). We will consider remote for the right individual.

Position Overview:

The Sales Enablement & Training Manager is responsible for designing, delivering, and continuously improving onboarding, training, and enablement programs that accelerate sales readiness and performance. This role partners closely with Sales Leadership, Product, Marketing, and pillar leaders to ensure sales teams are equipped with the knowledge, skills, tools, and messaging needed to succeed across all segments.

The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of sales processes and customer engagement, paired with the ability to translate strategy into practical, role specific training. This role plays a critical part in improving time to productivity, driving consistent execution across territories, and upskilling sales representatives through targeted coaching, reinforcement, and data driven enablement initiatives.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Sales Onboarding
  • Design and deliver structured onboarding programs for new sales hires, ensuring readiness across product knowledge, sales process, tools, and customer engagement.
  • Partner with Sales Leadership to define onboarding milestones, success metrics, and time-to-productivity benchmarks.
  • Continuously refine onboarding content based on feedback, performance trends, and evolving business needs.
  • Training & Curriculum Development
  • Design, develop, and facilitate live and virtual training sessions, workshops, and enablement classes tailored to different sales roles and experience levels.
  • Create scalable training materials including playbooks, guides, presentations, videos, and reinforcement tools.
  • Ensure training content is practical, role-specific, and aligned to real-world selling scenarios.
  • Product & Go-To-Market Enablement
  • Collaborate with Product and Marketing teams to support product launches, enhancements, and go-to-market rollouts.
  • Translate product capabilities and messaging into clear, sales-ready content that supports effective customer conversations.
  • Ensure sales teams are trained on value propositions, competitive positioning, and use cases.
  • Partnership with Pillar Leaders
  • Work closely with pillar leaders to understand strategy, priorities, and performance challenges within each business segment.
  • Customize enablement programs and training approaches to align with pillar-specific needs and goals.
  • Act as a strategic partner for sales leadership, providing insights and recommendations based on training outcomes and performance trends.
  • Performance Improvement & Upskilling
  • Identify product knowledge gaps and sales skill gaps through performance data, manager feedback, and field observations.
  • Design and deliver targeted coaching and upskilling programs for underperforming or developing sales representatives.
  • Provide ongoing reinforcement, follow-up training, and resources to ensure skill adoption and improvement.
  • Support managers with tools and frameworks to reinforce training and coach their teams effectively.
  • Develop firm guidelines with sales leaders for Partners and Outside Sales Consultants (OSCs) to ensure we have consistency across all territories.
  • Measurement & Continuous Improvement
  • Track and measure the effectiveness of onboarding and training programs using defined success metrics.
  • collect feedback from sales teams and leadership to continuously improve training content and delivery.
  • Analyze performance trends to proactively recommend enablement solutions.
Requirements:
  • Ability to travel 10-50% of the time
  • 3-5 years of experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Advanced Computer Skills
  • Proven experience in sales enablement, sales training, or sales leadership.
  • Strong understanding of sales processes, methodologies, and customer engagement strategies.
  • Experience partnering cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, and Sales Leadership.
  • Ability to design and facilitate engaging training for diverse audiences.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and coaching skills.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to translate insights into actionable training solutions.
