Hospitality Merchandise Internship at Allagash Brewing – Portland, Maine

Join Allagash Brewing Company as our Hospitality Intern and help bring our welcoming, people-first approach to life for every guest who walks through our doors.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you’ll be an essential part of our Tasting Room team- greeting guests, sharing beer knowledge, and helping maintain a warm, organized space. You’ll learn how our Hospitality team creates great experiences during our busiest months and gain firsthand insight into what exceptional guest service looks like at a B Corp-certified brewery.

You’ll also spend part of your time supporting our merchandise and retail operations. With hands-on guidance, you’ll learn how beer-loving fans get their Allagash gear- whether in person or online.

Your work will include:

• Welcoming and assisting guests in the Tasting Room
• Supporting beverage service and helping guests navigate menu choices
• Operating the point-of-sale system to sell products- beverages on-site, to-go, and merchandise
• Maintaining clean, organized guest spaces and following daily procedures
• Assisting with the online store, backstock product management, and order fulfillment
• Helping keep merchandise stocked and moving efficiently between warehouse and retail locations

What You’ll Learn

The internship is designed to build real-world skills in both hospitality and retail operations. Throughout the program, you’ll develop:

• Strong guest-service and communication skills
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, people-focused environment
• Foundations in beer education and responsible service
• An understanding of retail workflows, inventory basics, and online order fulfillment
• Confidence representing an independent, mission-driven brand

You’ll work closely with experienced mentors, receive structured training, and gain insight into what makes our brewery unique.

Program Details

• 16-week program: May 19- September 7
• Paid internship at $22/hour
• Full-time position: 40 hours/week
• Schedule includes weekend shifts
• Tasting Room hours range from10:00 AM- 6:30/7:30/8:30 PM

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older before May 19, 2026
• Authorized to work in the US
• Advanced verbal and written English language skills
• Must be a student currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program (Hospitality, Business, Marketing, Communications, or related majors preferred- but all majors welcome with an interest in Hospitality)
• Willingness to complete Maine Alcohol Server/Seller training
• Comfortable working onsite, including some physical activity and a fast-paced environment
• Curiosity, positivity, and reliability are essential- hospitality experience is helpful but not required
