Graduate Assistant – Men’s Basketball at Avila University – Kansas City, Missouri

POSITION SUMMARY
The Graduate Assistant position for Men's Basketball will assist the Head Basketball Coach in team management and administration; to reinforce the athletic department and university goals. Candidates are required to excel in communication skills, punctuality, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Irregular work hours such as weekends, holidays, and evenings are expected. Experience playing collegiate football is preferred.

Responsibilities:
• Recruit and evaluate quality student athletes
• Engage in and organize player development programs
• Scout opponents
• Maintain correspondence with recruits
• Assist with program fundraising efforts
• Head Coach of the Varsity Reserve Program
• Any other duties assigned by the Head Coach and Assistant Football Coaches.

Qualifications:
• Must be admitted and enrolled in a graduate program at Avila University. International students are not eligible for graduate assistantships.
• Undergraduate degree and admission to a Master’s program at Avila University.
• Experience playing collegiate basketball preferred.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team environment that prioritizes academic success and personal growth.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends to attend meetings, practices, and other scheduled events, and travel as required.
