About This Position
The Financial Analyst provides financial analysis, government pricing support, labor utilization insights, and expense management in compliance with Company and FAR/DFARS requirements. This role is responsible for building and maintaining cost models, pricing structures, and operational dashboards that enable leadership to make informed business and mission critical decisions. The position partners closely with Accounting, Operations, Compliance, and Program Management teams to support U.S. Government contracts and proposal efforts, with an emphasis on labor‑ driven‑ cost structures and operational efficiency. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyze labor utilization, productivity metrics, and operational expense trends across defense training and aviation programs
- Perform variance analysis and identify cost drivers impacting program performance, margins, and mission readiness
- Support forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning activities
- Provide actionable insights to leadership through clear financial narratives and data visualization
- team coverage.
- Support FAR/DFARS compliant government pricing activities, including cost build ups and indirect rate application
- Develop and maintain BOEs (Basis of Estimate), WBS aligned cost models, ROM pricing, and firm fixed pricing models
- Assist with preparation of cost volumes, pricing schedules, and supporting documentation for proposals and audits
- Ensure pricing assumptions and labor inputs align with contractual, regulatory, and internal compliance standards
- Support audit readiness and data requests related to pricing or labor cost structures
- Extract, validate, and manipulate data from multiple systems, including operational and finance platforms
- Build and maintain dashboards using Excel and Power BI to support labor, cost, and performance reporting
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND/OR QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience in financial analysis, cost modeling, and/or operational finance.
- Expert level proficiency utilizing Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, Power Query, Pivot Tables; Power Pivot/Macros preferred).
- Must have experience using BI tools (Power BI, strongly preferred).
- Must possess a high standard for data accuracy, documentation and version control.
- Comfortable partnering and working cross-functionally across multiple departments.
- Ability to work independently and within a team while demonstrating sound judgment and attention to detail.
- Must possess strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in the English language with ability to communicate financial concepts, including complex financial information, clearly across the Company.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook,).
- Must demonstrate safe and healthy workplace practices.
- Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Must be able to travel within the US and internationally.
- Must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities of a Financial Analyst in daily work performance.
- Must be eligible for US Security Clearance, if required.
- Must be able to obtain a CAC (Common Access Card) and not be barred from any installation.
EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, or other related field.
- 3+ years of work-related experience as a financial analyst, or similar role, required.
- Experience supporting U.S. Government or DoD contracts, preferred.
- Working knowledge of FAR/DFARS, government pricing concepts, and cost estimating practices, preferred.
- Experience with BOEs, WBS structures, ROMs, and firm fixed pricing, preferred.
- Familiarity with DCSA environments, secure operations, or regulated defense settings, preferred.
- Background in aviation, aerospace, logistics, or training services, preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time while working at a computer.
- Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment with standard lighting, noise levels, and climate conditions.
