Responsibilities
Supplier Readiness/Management
- Prepare RFPs/bid documents, analyze proposals based on pre-defined criteria and facilitate the supplier selection process.
- Support supplier audits & assessments with the Quality team as well as contract development with the Category Managers and Legal team.
- Review supplier capacity and delivery performance to ensure readiness.
- Resolve conflicts in regard to supplier issues as the key point of contact for MSA regarding NPD efforts.
- Regularly review/consult supplier risk. Adhere to Preferred Supplier & NDA guidelines.
Cost Management
- Control cost (collect & communicate quotes, negotiate cost down opportunities) for NPD projects utilizing the Project estimated annual usage.
- Manage ‘Cost BOM Tracker’ sourcing fields.
- Establish & communicate critical sourcing parameters (e.g. minimum order quantities, total landed cost, purchasing strategy)
- Identify & communicate future cost savings opportunities post-launch
Project Management
- Comply with, execute against and provide feedback into developed category strategies.
- Participate & communicate sourcing strategy during NPD team meetings.
- Communicate project status and needs with NPD Engineers and Project Managers
- Actively participate on assigned NPD project meetings
- Liaise with appropriate personnel across all business units to foster solid working relationships with suppliers.
Master Data Management
- Execute against NPD project SAP Workflow by populating necessary purchasing Information.
- Purchasing Information Record (PIR), Material Master, Source List, etc.
- Facilitate SAP new vendor workflow.
- Ensure consignment is considered and/or implemented per MSA’s category and supplier strategies.
Qualifications
Experience and Education (required):
- For Level I: 1 years purchasing, sourcing and/or engineering related experience
- For Level II: 3 years sourcing and/or engineering related experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain / Logistics / Business / Engineering or Related Field
- Language: English Fluent
Experience and Education (Preferred):
- Level I: Experience with strategic supplier relationships, new product development projects, and driving cost savings
- Level II: All above plus experience with negotiation and contracting. Proven track record demonstrating cross functional relationships, communication, discipline project tracking and execution.
- Experience using SAP
- Advanced skills with Excel based on level of experience
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings/specifications
- Value Engineering (VE) workshop participation and/or facilitation
- Supplier Quality assessments, audits, SPAPs
- Supplier Tooling, CAPEX development
ASCM: CSCP or ISM: CIPS / CPSM Certification
