About This Position
Our Extended Stay Hotel is hiring!
At Golden Grove, we invest in communities through compassionate relationships and accessible housing.
The Maintenance Technician is an integral member of our team and joins us in fulfilling that mission by ensuring our property remain safe, operable, and welcoming.
The Maintenance Technician job responsibilities are as follows:
(1) Remodel and update aspects of rooms including drywall repairs, tape & texture, painting, basic plumbing and electrical, ptac unit cleaning & installation, fixture installation, appliance & furniture placement, door & flooring installation.
(2) Lock repair
(3) Plumbing repairs
(4) Electrical repairs
(5) Framing & trim repairs
(6) Inventory control through submitting order requests & pars level maintained
(7) Keep storage spaces labeled, clean, organized
(8) Keep small machines clean and maintained
(9) Lightbulb & air filter change
(10) Work through all guest work orders in a timely manner
(11) Clean out dirty rooms and prep for pest control
(12) Descale commercial water heaters as needed
Qualifications and Skills Required:
(1) Experience in a hotel or hospitality environment is preferred.
(2) Ability to stand, walk, and kneel for extended periods of time.
(3) Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 75 pounds including up and down stairs.
(4) Excellent observational skills with the ability to identify potential safety risks and take appropriate action.
(5) Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with guests, employees, and external parties.
(6) Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations, responding quickly and efficiently.
(7) Ability to learn reporting and documenting procedures, emergency response protocols, fire safety regulations, and processes for maintenance.
(8) Physical stamina and fitness to respond to property emergencies if necessary such as shutting off water valves then cleaning up the mess after hours.
(9) Computer skills to be able to utilize needed software.
(10) Discernment to know when a situation calls for emergency personnel, external contractor services or repair companies, or property leadership.
(11) Ability to take initiative, manage time, and work alone much of the time.
(12) Comfortability with small machinery and power tools.
Full-time maintenance technicians are eligible for free or discounted housing at the property where they are primarily employed.
