Position Summary:
As a Deposit Operations Specialist, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, security, and efficiency of our daily banking operations.
This position is ideal for someone looking to build or grow a career in banking operations, with exposure to payments, compliance, and core digital and deposit banking systems. You’ll work closely with branches and internal teams while developing expertise in high-impact operational processes.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you’ll support a variety of essential deposit and digital operations functions, including:
- Process and verify daily banking transactions, including wire transfers, check deposits, and electronic payments
- Review reports and system activity to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulations
- Monitor and resolve transaction exceptions, including mobile deposits, high-dollar items, and rejected transactions
- Support regulatory processes such as Reg CC holds, levies, and other legal requests
- Respond to internal and external inquiries, providing timely and professional service to branches and customers
- Assist with foreign currency transactions and check collections
- Maintain accurate and organized records in accordance with bank policies and audit requirements
- Partner with internal teams to research and resolve discrepancies
- Contribute to process improvements and operational efficiency initiatives
To thrive in this role, you will need:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ year of experience in banking
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in deposit operations, payments, or back-office banking functions
- Familiarity with check processing, wires, or electronic payment systems
- Exposure to banking regulations (e.g., Reg CC) or compliance processes
- Experience with core banking systems
- Familiarity with Smartsheet
The pay range for this position is based on the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe to pay for this position at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more than the posted range and the range may be modified in the future. An individual’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, sales or revenue-based metrics, business or organizational needs, affordability and market pay.
Physical Demands
This position is an office-based position in terms of physical demand. Employees are expected to be able to operate their fingers and hands to perform functions such as typing, writing, and filing. Employees must also be able to move throughout the office with ease while also being able to sit for extended periods of time. Employees must be able to see and hear in an office setting that does include much noise going on around one’s workspace. While this job is mainly clerical, there are instances in which employees must be able to transport up to 20 pounds.
