Position Summary


We’re seeking a remote Accountant II to support journal entries, month‑end close, Medicare cost reporting, and third‑party reimbursement work within our healthcare finance team. This role blends routine reporting, variance analysis, and external reporting projects, and is ideal for someone with public accounting audit or healthcare finance experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and intermediate to advanced Excel skills. The schedule is typically 8:00–4:30 with flexibility, with heavier workload during the January–March cost report season.

What your first 90 days look like

  • Learning core systems: Infor, Axiom, and Epic
  • Owning and preparing GL patient AR journal entries
  • Supporting the preparation of the 2025 Medicare cost report
  • Building familiarity with external reporting and reimbursement workflows

You’ll join a team that values strong communication, initiative, and independent ownership. The ideal person is analytical, curious, and comfortable asking questions while also taking responsibility for their area. Collaboration is important, but so is the ability to work autonomously.

The schedule is typically 8:00–4:30, with some flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Prepares balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.

• Responsibilities also include analyzing trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses
Experience that translates well:

  • Public accounting audit
  • Healthcare finance
  • Medicare cost reporting

  • Large dataset analysis
  • Internal or external reporting

Requirements and Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Accounting major preferred or equivalent accounting courses

• Minimum 2 years of accounting experience required

• Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles required

• Proficient in computer software applications (i.e. Microsoft Word and Excel) required

***Healthcare professional with 3rd party audits, medicare, cost reports, reimbursement experience a huge plus!***

This position is US-Remote Eligible.
