What's the Job?
We're looking for a high-performing Commercial Lines Producer who thrives on results, owns their number, and is motivated by building a real book of business in a specialized, high-demand vertical. You'll work directly with truckers, owner-operators, and fleet managers to understand their risk exposure and deliver tailored commercial insurance solutions that protect their business and livelihoods. You'll manage a blend of inbound and outbound leads, develop lasting client relationships, and be a key driver of TPI's gross written premium (GWP) growth as we scale nationally.
This role reports directly to the VP of Sales.
What You'll Do:
- Build toward a personal book of business with a target of $1M+ in gross written premium (GWP) within your first 12 months, with defined ramp milestones in months 3, 6, and 9 months.
- Manage a pipeline of inbound and outbound leads - truckers and fleets seeking commercial insurance solutions
- Prospect cold leads with purpose and precision, using consultative outreach to identify risk needs and uncover coverage gaps
- Quote new prospects, follow up with urgency, and drive opportunities through the sales funnel to a close
- Present coverage options - including commercial auto, cargo, occupational accident, and trucking liability - with confidence, clarity, and expertise
- Maintain a target close rate on warm leads and work with Sales Leadership to continuously sharpen your approach
- Collaborate with the training team and Sales Leadership to hit and exceed individual GWP targets and team goals
- Stay current on FMCSA requirements, DOT filings, market conditions, and coverage changes to sell with authority and serve clients at a high level
- Contribute to a high-performance sales culture by sharing wins, refining process, and helping build a best-in-class team
What Does Winning Look Like?

Milestone Target
30 Days Complete onboarding; actively quoting; CRM fully operational
90 Days (X) bound policies; demonstrated pipeline discipline and outreach cadence
6 Months $400K–$500K in GWP written; (X%) close rate on warm leads
12 Months $1M+ personal GWP; (X%) policy retention; eligible for senior producer track
What's the Earning Potential?
- Base Salary: $40,000
- Commission: Competitive percentage of GWP on new business
- First-Year OTE: Top performers earn $70,000 – $130,000+
- No cap. Ever. The more premium you write, the more you earn
- GWP Bonuses: Milestone bonuses tied to production thresholds at 6 and 12 months
Nesting Period & Growth Ramp
All new hires begin with a 40-day nesting period to provide a structured runway to get licensed (if needed), learn our products, master our systems, and start building momentum with the support of your team. Commissions activate upon successful completion of the nesting period. This isn't a slow start. It's your launchpad.
Who We're Looking For
Our top producers come from commercial lines insurance, trucking/logistics sales, or B2B services. They've carried a quota, know how to prospect cold, and love the consultative challenge of matching complex risks to the right coverage. They treat their pipeline like a business they own - because it is.
You're the right fit if you:
- Have a demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas in a B2B or commercial lines environment
- Think in premium dollars and close rates, as well as activity metrics
- Have experience selling to small business owners, owner-operators, or fleet managers - or are hungry to learn this niche fast
- Understand or are willing to master commercial auto, cargo, occupational accident, and trucking liability coverages
- Are familiar with - or eager to learn - FMCSA requirements and DOT filings
- Are comfortable with high-volume outbound activity and don't wait for the phone to ring
- Are tech-savvy and use CRM tools to manage pipeline with precision, not as an afterthought
- Hold an active P&C license or are prepared to obtain one before your start date
- Are competitive by nature, resilient under pressure, and motivated by closing deals
- Embrace coaching and feedback as tools to grow - not criticism to deflect
Minimum Requirements:
- 1–3+ years of B2B sales, commercial insurance, or relevant industry experience preferred
- Strong communication skills - written, verbal, and on the phone
- Ability to work in-office, full-time, at our Phoenix, AZ headquarters
- Active P&C License (or commitment to obtain prior to start)

You’ll be based out of our stunning, light-filled headquarters in the Warehouse District of Downtown Phoenix—a 17,000-square-foot space designed for collaboration, creativity, and connection.
