Integrated Behavioral Technologies, Inc. (IBT) is a group of caring individuals whose goal is to provide children and their families with the behavioral therapy services they need to succeed. We are a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that serves children across the state of Kansas with a focus on rural and low-income areas.
IBT is currently seeking a Assistant Teacher Floater – Support Across All Age Groups at The K.I.D.S. Place, IBT’s early learning and child care center in McLouth, Kansas. The K.I.D.S. Place provides a nurturing environment which supports children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive needs, offering care to children ages 2 weeks up to 14 years.
Assistant Teacher
Job Description:
Teachers are responsible for providing and maintaining a nurturing and educational environment for the children in their care. Assistant teachers report to the Director and seek guidance from the Lead Teacher assigned to their classroom.
QUALIFICATIONS:
(Please note: Assistant Teachers must be at least sixteen (16) years of age, as per state guidelines.)

• Must be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the children and the Center
• Willing to learn behavioral techniques along with different teaching techniques
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
1. Assist in the creation of a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the physical, social, and emotional development of children
2. Perform duties as planned by the Director(s)
3. Assist in implementing the curriculum planned by the Lead Teacher(s), Director(s), or any others designated to plan curriculum activities.
4. Interact with the children in a way that conveys respect and nurturing
5. Support the social and emotional development of children
6. Engage in active play with children; this will often mean getting down on the floor to interact with them
7. Provide activities and opportunities that encourage curiosity, exploration, and problem-solving appropriate to the development levels of the children
8. Maintain accurate and appropriate records for children in the assigned classroom.
9. Attend to the personal hygiene of each child in your care, including changing diapers or soiled clothing and washing hands
10. Maintain a safe environment based on safety standards set by the Center and state guidelines
11. Help other staff in assisting children serve themselves meals, as required
12. Assist in the cleaning and straightening of the classrooms
13. Work cooperatively and effectively as a team member by communicating and contributing information on a continuous basis
14. Maintain open, friendly, and cooperative relationships with each child’s family and encourage their involvement in the program
15. Continue professional development through attending workshops, staff meetings, online KCCTO courses, and other staff development opportunities
16. Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible
17. Perform other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director(s)
18. Maintain accurate and appropriate records for children in the assigned classroom.

Mental Demands:
Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); ability to maintain emotional control under stress
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Ability to routinely lift children (if assigned to the Infant or Toddler room - must be able to lift a minimum of 20 lbs regularly), move furniture in the classroom, and sustain long hours of active work
