Summary
The R&D Analytical Technician supports laboratory operations to assist with production, quality systems, and product development initiatives. This role focuses on executing analytical testing, maintaining accurate records, and supporting research projects under the guidance of senior team members.
Responsibilities
• Perform analytical testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products following established methods and SOPs.
• Prepare samples, reagents, and standard solutions for testing.
• Collect and accurately record data; escalate findings and deviations to senior team members for review.
• Perform routine calibration and basic maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Maintain accurate and organized laboratory records, including data entry, calculations, and proper labeling of samples and solutions.
• Ensure compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and established lab procedures.
• Perform testing to support research and product development activities.
• Support product trials, pilot plant activities, and scale-up processes.
• Assist with documentation, including preparation of reports and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Support investigations by gathering samples and performing required testing for quality issues, customer complaints, and process deviations.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety within the laboratory.
• Adhere to all GMPs, regulatory requirements, and company quality standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Production, Quality, etc.) to support operational needs.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to support departmental and company objectives.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related field (required).
Requirements
• 0–2 years of laboratory experience (internship or academic lab experience acceptable).
• Basic understanding of analytical testing methods and laboratory equipment.
• Familiarity with GMPs and general quality practices (preferred).
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow established procedures and work with minimal supervision.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
