About This Position
We are seeking a versatile and visionary Application Support Specialist to bridge the gap between application development and modern infrastructure. In this role, you will be the architectural anchor for our software suites, ensuring that our applications are not only high-performing and scalable but also built on a foundation of "Security-by-Design."
The Application Support Specialist will support a cross-functional team, guiding the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) while working with the automation of our CI/CD pipelines and the support of our cloud environments. This is an “in the sidelines” role intended for someone who loves to code but is equally passionate about infrastructure as code (IaC) and proactive security posture.
DUTIES OF THE POSITIONThe duties of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Technical Support: Support the development of robust, scalable applications. Through code reviews and architectural workshops, you will be working with developers to provide support where needed.
Legacy Maintenance: Oversee the upkeep and patching of existing internal applications to ensure compatibility with modern DevOps pipelines.
Technical Documentation: Maintain technical documentation for application architecture and deployment processes.
Application Management: Ability to work with different applications, including but not limited to GoAnywhere MFT, Freshservice, GitHub, and others.
Teamwork: Ability to work in a team setting with other team members to accomplish goals efficiently.
Strategy & Architecture: Follow the "gold standard" for tech stacks and deployment patterns. Work closely with team product stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical requirements.
System Reliability: Oversee monitoring, logging, and alerting strategies to ensure maximum uptime and rapid incident response.
Process Optimization: Be part of a team working in Agile/Scrum methodologies and a culture of continuous improvement and documentation.
Vulnerability Remediation: Own the resolution of security vulnerabilities identified in the CI/CD scan reports provided by the Release Manager.
Low-Code/Internal Tooling: Own the day-to-day configuration and minor bug fixes for internal platforms like Freshservice, GoAnywhere MFT, and GitHub.
Ability to understand, speak, read, and write English and Spanish
Effectively speaking before groups of customers or employees
Assume evolving duties and responsibilities of position
Work all hours required to fulfill job duties and responsibilities (including, weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed)
Travel as required
Ability to work a hybrid model
Provide coverage for other positions as requested
Ability to carry and lift boxes and objects that may weigh up to 50 pounds.
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
Ability to operate within the Microsoft Windows environment; fluency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Google Workspace
Database Management: Experience with MSSQL, including the understanding of select queries
EDUCATION:Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related quantitative field required
Master’s Degree in a technical or management discipline preferred
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:Relevant industry certifications are strongly desired
EXPERIENCE:Minimum of 3 years in software support or systems support.
Minimum of 3 years experience in a support role (Application Deployment, Technical Support).
Knowledge or experience building and securing cloud-native pipelines.
Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
