Job Summary
The Project Manager Intern will support the planning, coordination, and execution of projects and initiatives of low complexity while gaining hands-on experience in project management within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role will assist Project Managers with tasks such as tracking project milestones, supporting documentation, gathering requirements, and maintaining communication across cross-functional teams. The intern will gain exposure to project lifecycles from concept through implementation while learning to align project work with company and departmental goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in defining project goals, timelines, and deliverables within a structured project framework.
- Support the gathering and organization of project requirements and documentation.
- Support communication among stakeholders and help escalate issues when appropriate.
- Assist with maintaining project schedules, trackers, and status updates.
- Support overall project success by monitoring tasks, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Help prepare reports, dashboards, and project updates for stakeholders and leadership.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives tied to operational and project goals.
- Maintain professional communication with internal teams and, when appropriate, customers.
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, and quality.
- Support team coordination, meeting preparation, and follow-up action tracking.
- Perform other assigned duties and responsibilities as needed to support the Project Management team.
Job Qualifications
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with a professional business style.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to learn project management tools, processes, and best practices.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- High level of initiative, accountability, and problem-solving mindset.
Education & Experience Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- Previous internship, coursework, or academic project experience related to project coordination is preferred.
- Interest in manufacturing, electronics, or operations environments is a plus.
- Familiarity with project management principles or coursework toward PMP concepts is a plus.
- Or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training.
