About This Position
Job Title: Senior MEP Designer
Job Description:
Magnum is seeking candidates for multiple designer positions
at Samsung. Depending on experience, successful candidates will be assigned to
support either Mechanical or Electrical design groups.
10 - 20 years of relevant Electrical or Mechanical experience
in a design, engineering or construction environment.
Autodesk AutoCAD experience is required.
This position is considered local hire status meaning no
relocation or per diem is available. The work location will be
onsite at Samsung Austin Semiconductor facility at Taylor, Texas and is
full-time onsite 5 days per week, no remote work or flex hours. Must
be able to pass a background and drug screening.
Designers will work under the direction of facilities
engineering and design groups to prepare mechanical and electrical 2D drawings
using Autodesk AutoCAD. There may be some interface to 3D systems but 3D CAD is
not a job requirement. Designers will also utilize drafters assigned to the
respective Electrical or Mechanical Design groups as needed to complete
drawings.
Education Requirements:
Associate’s degree or Technical School, in Electrical
Power and Controls, Mechanical, Piping, HVAC systems or related field a
plus or equivalent field experience/degree.
Experience
or training with AutoCAD, or similar CAD/3D CAD training, experience or
certificate. Must be proficient in AutoCAD 2020 or newer (which includes
knowledge of X’refs)
General Requirements:
You
must be able to pass a background and drug test.
Proficient
with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and Power Point.

to help create solutions to customer problems

with multiple customers and Facilities personnel
Support
engineering evaluations (working with Engineering System Owners)
Perform
field investigation as required to support preparation of design drawings,
as-builts, etc.)

confidential information
Strong
safety champion who will lead the project in achieving zero incidents and
injuries
Support
the project from initial design through construction
Excellent
written and verbal communication skills
Experience Requirements:

Semiconductor / Tool hookup experience is a plus
but not required
·
Understand Vendor Data Packages
·
Experience in design development and checking the
following types of Electrical drawings and documents:
o Wiring
diagrams
o One-line
diagrams
o Panel
schedules
o Conduit
and/or cable tray plans
o Installation
details
o Electrical
equipment plans
o Bills
of materials
o Field
experience in Electrical Systems or Facilities Installation is a plus.
o Detailed
knowledge and experience with Electrical Design and knowledge of Industry
standards, concepts, practices, and procedures. NFPA 70 - National Electrical
Code (NEC).

Experience in design development and checking
the following types of mechanical drawings:
o Process
& Instrument Diagrams (P&ID’s)
o Piping
drawings and isometrics
o Equipment
plans
o Installation
Details
o Bills
of Materials
o Experience
in Mechanical Engineering, 3D Design, Drafting,
o Field
experience in Pipefitting or Facilities Installation is a plus.
o Detailed
knowledge and experience with Piping Design and knowledge of Industry
standards, concepts, practices, and procedures. E.g. ASME, ANSI, NEMA.
Physical Requirements:
This position is in a fast-paced environment and
requires unassisted bending, crouching, walking, kneeling, standing, and
climbing stairs. Requires routine work in a semiconductor manufacturing
facility and requires wearing personal protective equipment including cleanroom
suits and masks. Ability to manipulate office materials and/or equipment
and occasionally Lift, Hold/Carry 5-10lbs.
