Description:

Mental Edge Counseling, LLC is an outpatient mental health office based in Dover, DE. We provide services to include individual, family, child and adolescent, group, and marriage counseling, medication management, Higher Level of Care program through PBH and a (newly added) Family Functional Therapy (FFT) program through PBH and YRS. Mental Edge Counseling, LLC has developed a reputation as an established and trusted outpatient mental health office. Position Overview

Mental Edge Counseling, LLC is seeking a motivated and compassionate Functional Family Therapy (FFT) Clinician to provide evidence-based, family-centered treatment to youth and families experiencing behavioral, emotional, and relational challenges. This role focuses on strengthening family functioning, improving communication, and reducing risk behaviors through structured, in-home and community-based interventions.

Key Responsibilities

· Deliver Functional Family Therapy (FFT) in accordance with the FFT model and fidelity standards

· Conduct comprehensive family assessments and develop individualized treatment plans

· Provide in-home, community-based, and/or telehealth sessions as appropriate

· Collaborate with caregivers, schools, probation, case managers, and other stakeholders

· Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation in compliance with agency and funding requirements

· Participate in required FFT training, consultation, and supervision

· Utilize strengths-based, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed approaches

Qualifications

· Master’s degree in counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, or related field

· FFT certification or willingness to complete FFT training required

· Experience working with adolescents and families with high-risk behaviors preferred

· Strong clinical judgment, engagement skills, and ability to work independently

· Reliable transportation and willingness to provide in-home services.

Requirements:
  • Possession of a master’s degree or higher in social work and/or psychology or related field
  • Available in the early afternoon/ evening (eg Noon to 8:30 pm) and weekends
  • Walking, occasional running, standing, sitting, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, twisting, reaching above head, bending, and carrying up to 50 pounds
  • Sustained physical exertion may be required during session
  • Have 6 months experience in working with children youth and family

  • Criminal background check: A satisfactory criminal background check is required as a condition of hire. Mental Edge Counseling, LLC may require the applicant to pay for the criminal background check as part of the conditional offer of hire.
  • DSCYF Child Abuse Registry check: Mental Edge Counseling, LLC will require the applicant to obtain a successful child abuse registry check.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States
