About This Position
Location: Vancouver, WA / Oregon - Washington Region
ACC Environmental Consultants, an Employee Owned Company, is seeking a Staff Geologist to support our growing environmental work across Oregon and Washington. This is an early-career opportunity for a motivated geologist who is eager to build consulting experience through a combination of field work, data evaluation, technical reporting, and project support.
The ideal candidate is detail oriented, organized, dependable, and ready to learn from experienced project managers and senior technical staff. This position includes a strong field component and offers the opportunity to grow into increasing levels of technical and project responsibility.
What You Will Do
• Support environmental site investigations, subsurface field programs, and remediation projects under the direction of senior staff.
• Conduct and document field activities such as soil, groundwater, soil vapor, and surface water sampling; groundwater monitoring; drilling oversight; and site inspections.
• Assist with data management, tabulation, interpretation, and preparation of figures, tables, and appendices for technical reports.
• Help prepare work plans, monitoring reports, investigation summaries, and other project deliverables.
• Coordinate laboratory data, field records, and related project documentation to support quality and regulatory compliance.
• Communicate effectively with project managers, field subcontractors, laboratories, clients, and regulatory stakeholders as needed.
• Travel periodically for field assignments within Oregon, Washington, and occasionally surrounding areas.
What We Are Looking For
• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental Geology, Hydrogeology, Earth Sciences, Engineering Geology, or a related discipline.
• 0–5 years of relevant experience in environmental consulting, field geology, hydrogeology, or a related field.
• Familiarity with environmental site investigations, groundwater monitoring, and soil and groundwater sampling is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and organized technical documentation.
• Attention to detail, sound judgment, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
• Ability to work independently in the field and collaboratively as part of a project team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with data management, mapping, or environmental database tools is a plus.
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training is a plus, or willingness to obtain as needed.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and willingness to travel for field work.
What Will Make You Stand Out
• Experience supporting environmental sampling, site assessment, remediation, or compliance projects.
• Exposure to Oregon and/or Washington environmental regulatory programs.
• Experience preparing tables, figures, and technical summaries for reports.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT), Geologist-in-Training (GIT), or ability to pursue professional registration over time.

Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and location.
