About This Position

  • JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS
    • Job Summary:
      • Assessing, counseling, and educating patients on their diet. Assesses a patient’s diet, promotes good dietary health, and treats medical conditions by devising eating plans for patients based on the science of nutrition. Services may be provided to other medical group patients including Oncology.
    • Education:
      • Position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Nutritional Science or a related field from an accredited college or university and successful completion of an accredited dietetics program through the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).
    • Registration/Certification/Licensure:
      • Maryland State licensure as a Dietitian/Nutritionist
      • Credentialed Registered Dietitian by the Commission of Dietetic Registration (CDR)
      • Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) or Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) preferred.
      • Unexpired, unsuspended driver’s license if incumbent will be required to drive as part of their routine job duties.
    • Experience:
      • Position requires 1-2 years related experience
    • Other Requirements:
      • Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements.
      • Effectively communicates with all patient populations and staff by implementing organization-wide communication techniques as a daily practice.
      • Effectively advocates for quality patient safety and satisfaction as a daily practice.
      • Demonstrated proficiency of computer skills necessary to effectively complete position requirements including Microsoft Office Products.
      • Previous experience and demonstrated professionalism in effectively communicating with patients and promoting a positive service atmosphere.
      • Ability to work independently in a multi-task environment producing quality work. May require the ability to drive as part of routine job duties.
