Job Description
Position Description: Overview:
Under general supervision, but in line with established policies and procedures, this employee provides a variety of service functions, including, but not limited to, processing savings account, checking account and loan transactions, cashing checks, and selling money orders and travelers checks. This employee may answer phones, process mail received, maintain account records, and cross-sell services. The employee is responsible for balancing each days transactions and verifying cash totals at the end of the day.
Responsibilities and Results:
Records and processes transactions with accuracy and speed.
Verifies cash drawer, maintains and safeguards own cash balances within security guidelines.
Provides a variety of customer service functions, such as processing savings, checking accounts and loan transactions; opening new accounts, etc.
Answers phones and responds to customer questions, takes messages.
Possesses the ability to cash checks or process withdrawals within authority limits, and to ensure that the customer has the right to the funds.
Performs related clerical tasks in an accurate and timely manner.
Rotates among lobby teller windows, drive-up, and ATM duties.
Complies with Government regulations and BSA.
Assists with any other duties as directed or required by Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High school diploma or GED required.
Work Experience:
1+ years of experience in banking preferred.
Previous cash handling experience required.
Skills and Knowledge:
Banking, and Sales oriented, good interpersonal and excellent communication skills and a strong desire to succeed
Time management and organizational skills
Ability to perform under pressure and adapt to changing and possibly stressful environment
Self-Motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while remaining a team player
Other Job Responsibilities:
Must be able to keep all sensitive information confidential.
Ability to perform under pressure and adapt to changing environment
Job includes talking, hearing and repetitive motions
Ability to express and exchange ideas with customers by means of the spoken word, either in person or on the phone
Ability to received detailed information through oral communication
Visual ability to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, viewing a computer screen and reading procedures.
Speed and accurate use of computer, calculator and other business machines is required.
Willingness to assume new responsibilities, ability to perform under pressure and adapt to changing and possibly stressful environment is expected.
The ability to identify, assist with and resolve routine problems is expected.
Working hours may vary.
May be required to work in other branch locations as needed.
Positively contributes to the success of others by assistant fellow team members.
On time attendance is expected.
